I'm not even sure why they're against the idea of the autism connection. I know of this one TIF (who is also autistic.) who admits to the link between autism and transgenderism. However, she claims that correlation doesn't mean causation. She believes it might be that autistic people tend to care less about social norms, so if they happen to be trans they are more likely to explore their "gender identity". I'm kinda surprised Tony doesn't at least try to use that reasoning whenever someone points out the connection between the two.

As for transgenderism being only found in humans, I've seen an argument from TRAs who claim "Well humans are the only animals that have a conscience, so its possible that gender identities can also only exist in humans too." The problem with this logic though is that I've read that having a conscience can at least have an evolutionary reason behind it. Transgenderism and the idea of gender identities existing seems to have no benefit. Unless you subscribe to the idea of it being the human version of mimicry where the sneaky male disguises himself as a female to avoid dominant males and mate with females. (But I dont think TIMs would want to be compared to that.
