There might be a little too much Dawkins here. So have some Krauss instead.

What exactly does Ben Carson being a Seventh-Day Adventist have to do with how he'd handle nuclear weapons? Or for that matter, how good of president he'd be?

Considering how Ben Carson was a neurosurgeon, would his religious views and such invalidate anything he done as a doctor? That aside, putting him in office would mean nuclear armageddon and is making Trump look smarter? For the former, that's just being biased and with the latter, is the guy even aware of what Trump has accomplished within the realms of being a candidate? Even though many can disagree with his religious views, one does have to ask how it would even tie with how good of leader he will be. For all we know, he could literally do a better job than Bush did if he even does get elected.

Maybe this is a bit elitist on my part...but for all the "intellectualism" this school of (un)thought espouses, its adherents aren't particularly highly educated. I have yet to meet or hear about a euphoric atheist that has completed college or even attempted graduate school or some form of intellectual career path (the sciences, academia, etc.). Am I alone in this?

Richard Dawkins is a big deal in evolutionary biology, and he's pretty fucking euphoric.

+ is famous nearly exclusively for his atheism, hardly anybody knows what exactly his research interests in biology were (which was the subject he graduated and got his phd in, not philosophy, theology or religious criticism).

I'm pretty sure hardly any of these euphoric atheists have read any atheist classic such as Democritus, Feuerbach, Karl Marx, Sartre or Bertrand Russell... there's probably no time for that when there's MLP to watch.

Good point. I'd forgotten about him.

Ow the edge.
Even if you don't believe he was divine, you just have to read the Gospels to determine that Jesus seems like a pretty decent guy who didn't deserve to be killed. What's this guy's beef?

If anyone comes to me and does not hate father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters--yes, even their own life--such a person cannot be my disciple.
Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword. For I have come to turn
a man against his father,
a daughter against her mother,
a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law

Possibly halal?
I'm curious why you guys think it is healthy to follow rituals and waste time paying homage to a fairytale. I see no benefit in it, but I am and have always been very much :neckbeard:. How is practicing religion remotely healthy? To me it seems to be putting a ton of energy in something that leads no where and gets you nothing but judgement and disdain. I'd rather use that thought and time in other venues of life that actually help people and better me, like education or volunteer work.
At least they admit being :neckbeard:though.
