With all due respect is the belief that there is no god or higher power not a belief in of itself? Not to mention there are many examples of athiestic religions and organizations throughout history like the Cult of Reason or the League of Militant Atheists. Even now the euphoric atheists are essentially a religion dedicated to the worship of pop "science" and progressive ideals. A religion in all but name essentially.

According to Oxford, belief is "any proposition that is accepted as true on the basis of inconclusive evidence. A belief is stronger than a baseless opinion but not as strong as an item of knowledge." Merriam-Webster and Cambridge also have similar descriptions. If we're going by those definitions then yes, if you believe there is no higher power, then that's a belief since no proof of God's or a higher power's non-existence is inconclusive.
I'm not saying there isn't any peaceful atheistic groups, even though some of them come off as strong. I used two examples of the more extreme groups of Atheists in history that had used more violent methods. Although the LMA probably was more so violent due to them being a type of "secret police" for lack of a better term.
