It also pisses me off that this idiot says "Christianity" stole something. How the fuck can a set of beliefs do anything at all? It's a person who made all that shit, not "Christianity," which is an abstract concept that doesn't physically exist so can't steal anything at all.

My favorite thing about atheists is when they misinterpret Nietzsche, then proceed to base their entire world view around it.

Jews are often the most vitriolic in their attacks against Christians and the christian faith, especially any commentary on christ. I've never understood modern Christians obsession with the Jews, in my humble opinion they stopped being gods chosen people the minute christ died on the cross(by their hands, Roman's didnt do nuthin).

The Romans aren't even portrayed as evil. Pilate himself said that he couldn't pin a crime against Jesus but the Pharisees threatened to rebel against the Romans so he acquiesced but Pilate did say he was innocent of Jesus' blood. The obsession with the Jews in modern Christianity probably stems from the fact that Jews have a massive victim complex and allegedly infiltrated many Christian denominations in order to promote this idea of "God's Chosen People".

Seems like any religious discussion on Reddit to me. Still, these baboons probably missed the point that the Faith path is better for health, warmth, and hope in Frostpunk due to the buildings you can build. Then again, any mention of Faith sends a shiver down their spines due to their insecurities.

The crazy thing here is the Order path is a caricature of Totalitarianism, with public executions, a police state, and gulags. It's explicitly the "ends justify the means" evil path whereas Faith is fairly good-coded most of the time, with soup kitchens and volunteer clinics giving people hope and good health.

Redditors are defending the worst excesses of 1930s fringe ideology because it's atheist.

Eh, 'Order bad, Faith good) isn't really accurate. Both paths in Frostpunk effectively end in Totalitarianism (Order with a fascistic/communistic dictatorship and Faith with a religious cult). But both paths start out benign. Order starts with neighborhood watches and factory foremen, and is all about restoring the trappings of civilization and law and order. It's not 'the evil path' by any means. But, as with Faith, the laws get more and more extreme the farther you go. (and the Faith path isn't really 'good-coded'. Midway through it you're hauling criminals and dissenters into the town square to be whipped for their sins).

The whole message of Frostpunk isn't 'religion bad' or 'police bad'. It's about how good intentions and carelessness can lead to the slow creep of totalitarianism. Dictatorships and cults aren't made overnight for no reason. They're the results of desperate people whose need for hope is exploited by cynical or equally desperate leaders. Both Order and Faith are ways to keep the hope for the future alive and society functioning, and aren't really good or bad. They're just tools like any other, and it's up to humans to use them for good or evil.

Kinda funny that a pretty humanist message like that gets ignored by 'secular humanists' out of petty tribalism and bias.

I'm mostly going by mechanics since the game presents basically every path as a necessary evil (it's a grimdark, depressing apocalypse game after all). But in terms of gameplay I know it's easier to manage the main mechanics of Faith without diving into public executions, and it's widely considered the (mechanically) strongest of the two for how good the bonuses are with minimal investment down the path.

Meanwhile the optimal strat for Order seems to be to basically make a police state to crack down hard on disorder but not take the final law so you get a good ending. The posters are even talking about the gulag and Stasi mechanics like they really did invest all the way but still think it's the best choice because "religion bad."

Mechanics differ, but you're still establishing a society where people stop thinking for themselves and serve the collective. The efficiency of Order saves lives and the food it dispenses creates desperately needed resources that can create warmth for homes as well as workplaces.

Frostpunk is like this thread. The whole point of "Euphoric Atheists" is that they are hypocrites that embody the worst traits of religion. Mindlessly following and quoting people as though they were chosen ones, viewing themselves as enlightened and thus superior, mindlessly supporting their ideological tribe, extreme intolerance of other opinions, etc.

Religious evangelicals destroyed slavery and irreligious men like Thomas Paine are the ideological heart of America. Stalin brought back the churches when the Nazis invaded and Roosevelt held weekly prayers during 1944. Religious tyranny and irreligious tyranny are the same.
