Being so well-read, you'd think that Catfish John would realize that Sigmund Freud was wrong about almost every aspect of his vocation. In America, Freudian psychologists aren't even allowed to practice medicine.

Never cite the incompetent, unless you're going for quick laughs.

You're expecting people who have nothing better to do than proselytize on the internet to know anything about psychology.

That's another thing that shits me about euphorics. They consistently do not know shit about any scientific field outside of what is shown in pop culture.

They cite Neil Tyson because he has a show, and that is pretty much it. Dunning-Kruger doesn't begin to cover this shit

Is he left wing? Far as I can tell he's just a narcissistic, contrarian, douchebag. I've yet to see an actual informed political opinion come out of his mouth. Just mindless bitching.
He started out as libertarian (no surprise here), but later moved towards left-wing liberalism.

And then he mocked a rape victim for being raped on a very public website, forever making him a pariah among decent people.

TJ doesn't really have any sincere political leanings, just a swirling black hole of narcissism and contempt for others

Weirdly taking r/atheism out of the defaults somehow made it even more cancerous

Because then at least it was under some form of public scrutiny. Reddit works in a way that inherently supports echo chambers, when it was on the front page it had more chance to receive outside voices than it does now.

Sorry if I'm OT, but I doubt these euphorics read his actual books and research papers, either.

That could end up being too much research. Why bother using actual sources when you can refer to a website or some guy on TV who only gives off a bare cliff's notes version that could actually end up being misconstrued.

Huh, a double neckbeard. And a typo.

Comment sections on YT over religion-related videos can bring out euphoric's.
Here's an example from this link.
Hitler wuz a christian seems to be overused.png

At this point, I really wonder how much people try to say Hitler was a Christian just to say how bad Christianity is. IIRC, didn't Hitler think that religion would eventually be abandoned or something in a society he envisioned?

Hitler's views on religion were all over the map and don't fit neatly into any category. He was raised Catholic, and identified as such when it suited him, but the actual religion he practiced (personally and public ally) was a weird blend of statism and paganism.

Yes. Hitler only obeyed one higher power, Hitler. Any care or concern he had about Christendom was simply how he could use it to further his own agenda.

That's the truth, nothing about Hitler can fit neatly in any category other than "evil". About him being raised Catholic, when the nazi party went to the polls in the first few parliamentary elections, he was supported by the Protestants and not the Catholics.

More destructive than the atomic bomb?

As far as Hitler and religion goes, he would no doubt of used it to get more support. He was a man that made himself the leader of Germany and even fired his own generals to lead the German army during his invasion of the Soviet Union.

It may as well be in the eyes of people who may have some sort of hatred of Christianity. Religion has brought in bad shit and all but seriously, the whole complaints such as Hitler being a Christian feels rather overused.

Not only that, but there are examples of religious evil contemporary to Hitler that never get brought up: Imperial Japan.
During WW2, the Japanese emperor was literally held to be a divine being who could do no wrong, and the society operated on a very religious ideology that justified the Rape of Nanking, an act even the fucking Nazis condemned as brutal and horrific. Part of the task of rebuilding Japan was de-programming the emperor cult.

And of course they deny it to this day, while the Germans are a groveling mass of self-flagellation over shit practically nobody still alive did.

If you could somehow suck out half of German guilt and give it to the fucking Japanese, both peoples would be improved.
