In religions such as Tibetan Buddhism, skepticism about finding a Guru, or Lama is highly encouraged. Also, in most forms of Buddhism in the west, people convert when they're adults. Also, the two aren't mutually exclusive.
  • An espoused viewpoint and method of thinking that leads to ultimate truth
  • Taught primarily by men, of the local dominant ethnicity
  • Given a big enough commitment of time and money, you too can learn the special thinking
  • And perhaps one day you will be invested in the traditional long white clothes of the movement
If we're going to be specious.

traditional long white clothes of the movement
Actually, outside of movies, many scientists rarely wear the iconic white lab coats on the job. That is, while chemists and biologists wear them when handling aggressive substances, in the physics department they are usually not found.

I'd wear it once just to piss everyone off, then I'd probably wear jeans and a tshirt like everyone else.

It's funny because the first scientists were very religious men. Hell the famous "God of the gaps" fallacy creator was a baptist pastor (I know he was a baptist). Also worth noting is that there are still nobel peace prize winning scientists that Christian and religious. Taki magazine's Scott Locklin (an atheist himself) has some great articles on this stuff. I recommend this, this, and this.

But then they wouldn't have that dead horse to beat over and over again and feel smarter than they really are, and they can't have that. They have be able to chimp violently when someone says god bless you when you sneeze since if they don't have that, they won't have anything in life to talk about or serve as an excuse for their shit behavior.

And they'd have to acknowledge that, while many scientists are atheists, being an anthiest does not make you a scientist, as evidenced by the fact that most Euphorics couldn't science their way out of a baking soda volcano.

They'd just deny that the volcano god is angry and they'll magically poof to safety, cause that's how that works right?

Euphorics might try to rebutt the list by saying the science they discovered was outdated or incorrect. Euphorics might also just simply bemoan that they could of discovered more if they weren't shackled to some sort of religious belief.

And again... how many discoveries have they, personally, made, lacking those shackles?

The fact that I still read Reddit threads even remotely related to religion or politics proves that I hate myself.

When I think about all the mess we have with religion and all, this quote from Howard Stern always pops into my head.

"Here's what happens when you die--you sit in a box and get eaten by worms. I guarantee you that when you die, nothing cool happens."

I think that best describes the problems of religion perfectly.
