I can already imagine the kid's reaction when his quote was taken straight off the subreddit was used highly across the internet with such ridicule to poke fun at a lot of internet atheist's smug attitude as seen across the internet.

Don't you know? Catholicism has a strict Thou Shalt Not Squeal policy. If us Catholics started debating or engaging with people, we might reveal the existence of our pagan rituals or the cult gatherings where we bring little boys to be ceremonially raped for the glory of the Great Fish God Dagon! All the "the world is a simulation" theories are riddled with assumptions and are dreamed up in order to fill philosophy (not science) journals. There is no evidence at all.

And even if it was true, it would be of little consequence. Sure everything is a simulation, but every single issue and problem still applies to us.

Further, there is actually reasonable evidence against this. The computing power required to provide the illusion of reality is thought to be impossible to provide.

If it is simulated, there would be glitches. So it would be kind of cool to figure it out so we can glitch through walls and turn on godmode and shit.

If you think bigoted assumptions about huge amounts of people is insightful, you might not be terribly enlightened or rational yourself.

It is true that the piece RD's foundation refers to is rather unrealistic and alarmist (not to mention full of mumble-jumble), but to dismiss there were any attempt to instill bizarre gender politics to young children is as blind to empirical evidence as someone who claims the Earth is flat.
