idk what alex's adversity is to making his game playable on mac - like someone else had it transferred but he says on the site not to send him emails abt it not working on mac....

Strange, I used to have a Mac and downloaded his game to try it and I managed to get to the school no problem. Granted, me having to use a Mac meant that I had to play his game on the lowest possible settings, but I'm not sure if that could be affecting the loading time.

It was definitely sometime in 2016, and the Mac I was using was a 2010-ish, so kind of an old Mac I used to use.

I think the best execution of this idea would be just make like a dozen distinct characters with their own schedules and a bunch of less-interesting filler students, and then have it be multiplayer.

Oh no. SOMEONE sent Senpai a love letter. We can't have that. We're the only one for him.

Everyone gets assigned a random special character and the AI takes over the rest and plays them normally so nobody's sure which other students are actually malicious until things start happening or sufficient evidence is gathered to prove that a particular character is or isn't actually lusting after Senpai.

This would sort of bring together the good aspects of Hitman, SpyParty and Beholder and would probably be pretty fun to watch as well as play even in early access. All it would need would be a few ways to commit murder, collect information, and direct unaffiliated students from place to place (eg: fire alarms).

See, having designated rivals makes the game feel a little more like Hitman in the context of "here is your target, eliminate them", which isn't bad, but I feel that makes takes away the fun in singling out a rival. It would actually be incredibly awesome to need to play detective in order to find potential suitors for senpai. It adds more stealth functions into the game that aren't entirely based around murdering X student. There could be a function for losers who hate fun where you can pay Info-chan to just give up the rival with enough "payment" etc., but it would have more appeal were it to be like the multiplayer concept you described.

Back on-topic: Not sure making the game playable on Mac (if it's not) must/should be a priority right now, though. I mean, Dev would really exceed any and every expectationa if he made the sandbox run smoothly on at least a single OS or... I don't know, if any rival was implemented.

Couldn't he just push them all in, model-wise, and add their events and all the individual stuff step-by-step, including to appear at week X? That way he could check if they behave accordingly as students and all.
It's problematic for the release builds since he'd "spoil" the rivals but then again it's his fault for releasing the game to the public way too soon.

A brief summary is probably enough for normal people, but let's be real here. We're the type of extraordinary people that closely follow a perverted shell of a man and discuss his missteps for two years.

This thread has served us well, and I hope it continues for thousands of more pages. However, as a method of preserving and memorializing Alex's failure, it is inadequate. We need a in-depth, organized encyclopedia.

I think we could use the information on Alex's Lolcow Wiki page as a base for his article on the Eva Wiki, and even a few others. We could take sections of his Lolcow Wiki page and form each section into its own independent article, edit and expand upon them accordingly, and continue to add to all of them as the wiki itself grows larger and Alex's blunders continue.

Look at the contents section for Alex's Lolcow Wiki page. Section 1.1 - 1.6 could easily be its own article in the Eva wiki if elaborated on and updated accordingly. Likewise, Section 2.1, Section 2.2, and Section 2.3 could each have their own respective articles if we also fleshed out and added more content to them. That's four articles right there.

Dude, his writing style is fucking obnoxious. I was reading this event regarding an ex-volunteer, and that plus the shit regarding that girl who was being severely bullied really brought out how little he's grown over the years. Not only does he misuse words, and is generally a prose-y writer in an attempt to sound intelligent, people familiar with psychological manipulation techniques can see right through that shit.

The way he interacts with the volunteer artist for Fun-chan is infuriating. He's this spoiled brat, and acts like a child who wants something NOW, so he tries to play it off like "ohhh, I love your art the most BUT I HAVE TO WAIT SO LONG FOR IT? HMMM I REALLY WOULD LIKE IT NOW- OH LOOK! SUDDENLY OTHER VOLUNTEERS CONVENIENTLY CONTACTED ME ABOUT THIS PROJECT, I HAVE A TOUGH CHOICE, BUT I REALLY WANT YOU TO DO IT BECAUSE I LIKE IT BUT I WANT IT NOW." It's so fucking transparent he's being a prick and trying to guilt them to get free art from a person who actually makes money from their work. His writing is so passive-aggressive it's infuriating.

Then when the artist posted the concepts because they didn't receive credit when he put them in his shitbox, he came to her saying "ohhh I won't DEMAND you remove the concept, but it's takes away sooooo much allure of the character when you just post the concepts, guilt guilt guilt." And when the artist contacted him(twice mind you), he had the audacity to claim that wasn't him being passive-aggressive on tumblr, that it was an IMPOSTER, and "did mean people sway your judgment because I'd like to explain myself, I'm a nice person etc. etc." Instead of just writing brief replies for such a "busy developer", he HAS to pad out his writing with manipulative bullshit to try and get people to do what he wants.

He has a Martyr/Victim Complex like I've never seen. When that whole shitstorm happened with the girl being harassed, he NEVER owned up, he constantly twisted everything to make himself seem like people pointing out him being a pretentious asshole were portraying him as a literal monster. Everyone saying meanie poopy things were trying to ruin his life, and he hates when anyone else was getting more sympathy pats than him. Acting like people talking shit is literally life destroying is hilarious, and his claims of "2017Dev is brooding, and doesn't care, and haha justice!" is the natural descent from people saying mean things is asinine. Celebrities deal with more shit than he does, and as far as we know, they handle it OK, and manage to not be total assholes.

Everyone has flaws. We all know it - it's uncomfortable for some, but it's normal knowledge. He's not a monster like he exaggerates in order to get asspats. He's just a prick who hates when people point that out instead of actually taking the time to improve upon it. His parents must have spoiled and neglected him simultaneously in order to make this concoction of narcissism and approval seeking. Things which can be improved to better yourself. And he could take steps to improve that, but he prefers to do jack shit and reeees when people say anything bad about him instead of looking in the mirror.

Funny you mentioned Chris. People made Chris shove his medallions up his ass, fuck his PS3 (literally) and other things too.

Yeah, that’s the entire point of if being called ‘unity’ - you can deploy to anything wIth a screen and a video card with minimal hassle, even smartwatches if you're willing to jump through a few hoops.

Aside from the comedy ‘he’s lazy’ option, the most likely reason I can see there not being Mac/Linux builds is that he’s got some precompiled binary plugin in his build that doesn’t have a Mac version. When stuff comes off the store in binary form it’s usually a massive red flag because it limits you to publishing on whatever platforms you have the binary for. Every not-terrible binary package on the store will have a build for all three major platforms, but I wouldn’t be surprised if some of the 3$ garbage packages were binary and windows-only.
