I was frequenting 8ch /v/ around the time they took Yandev in after 4chan made him upset, got to learn he was EvaXephon around that time (at the time I figured he was just some obnoxious weeb, who cares about those)

I think most people know that story by now; he starts getting spergier over time, people start calling him out for it and he spergs out more till the point where he finally leaves for reddit, leaving him to become a laughingstock...

Sometime later I found Kiwifarms and found the thread about him, and now here we are

I found this thread after my search for more info about this guy began with his shitty "Anniversary" video where he complained about emails for a straight 20 minutes.
Legit I was trying to find out if he had some kind of autism because the way he obsesses over emails seems like something an autist would do. (Considering I AM one I know that feeling but clearly he doesn't know how to keep that shit on the down low like us civilized autists.)

tl;dr was trying to find out if he had some kind of autism and stumbled upon this thread.

I'm embarrassed to say I'm a lot more gullible than most people here. Been following the development of the game since mid-2015, and somehow managed not to find anything particularly wrong with it right up until discovering this thread 3 weeks ago. I did feel a bit put off about the occasional creepy and/or dumb thing being added to the game, but I guess my mind was able to censor it all because I still saw YanSim as a tongue-in-cheek anime parody meme gaem, even despite the dev insisting otherwise.
The first real disappointment for me was the rival introduction video, where the characters were too stupid and cliché to even be parodies. And the pedo teacher was too much even for my comfort. But then I figured that the dev must simply have a weird sense of humor, because no sane person would put make something like this unironically, right? Right?
Then I saw someone on KYM mention how YanDev had a thread on KiwiFarms, which made me curious as to why a forum that keeps track of people like CWC and Brianna would have a thread on someone who I thought at the time was still relatively normal. Boy was I in for a surprise.

Truth be told I kinda bought Yan-Dev's/Eva's shit for about a year. Sure I was skeptical about how all his focus was on Osana even though he stated many times that he was waiting for other people to "give him the assets" but I kept my trap shut because I figured "I can't program for shit, so am I really justified in judging how long he's taking?" I was also aware of his section on the streamers/horrible page on TV Tropes but I brushed it off because I figured "hey, maybe he's actually changed for the better." After a while I started getting bored of waiting for him to finish his game, at which point thousands of Bujuu Mike videos started flooding my reccommended. It's at this point that I just said fuck it and gave up on the game entirely. Then I found out about the really spergy shit he did and now I just sorta lurk in this forum. So congratulations, in a way this thread got me interested in yansim again.

I'd discovered YanSim about the same time I joined the Farms. When I saw the game I thought it seemed like a fun, satirical take on a ridiculous anime cliché and, me being a fan of good satire, as well as stealth games like Hitman and the Splinter Cell games (the classic Splinter Cells, not the shitty action movie wannabes that the last two games were), I gave it a shot.

It was fairly entertaining for what it was, but I found it strange how the developer was so adamant on constantly reminding me that THIS IS AN UNFINISHED BUILD. IT IS NOT REPRESENTATIVE OF THE FINAL GAME on every single menu and loading screen that popped up, as if I had not understood the first time, and how he came off as kind of a dick when basically stating on his website that if the build download didn't work for your personal computer, you were shit out of luck because he wasn't going to look into it or help you solve the problem if you asked him. Also, like @LongDongSchlong mentioned, his constant sperging about emails came off as very mean and counterintuitive, and gave a hint about the kind of person he really was.

Over time the weird fetish vibes and the creator's obvious inability to understand what exactly he wanted his game to be became apparent to me as well.

I don't know if I really expected to see him end up with a thread on the Farms so soon after I found out about him but I honestly wasn't terribly surprised when it happened. The signs were all there, after all.

I was thinking about this before but it should be sort of like a detective game. You have 5 or 6 personality traits, and one exclusive to the antihero. All girls have some mixture of cute, sporty, creative, intellectual, and then the antihero herself is 100% macabre. The mark has a preference for a specific combination of personality types (but never macabre). Based on who he likes, you should imitate their interests to woo the mark and even nick clothing and accessories from dead girls to better imitate the preference. The idea is to make yourself less visibly macabre and more like what the mark wants. Eventually, the mark will like you more than any living alternative, or you'll fuck up and do something that horrifies the mark / be arrested.

I have no idea what he's actually doing and I don't think he does either, but that's the vibe I got.

I remember seeing a few YanSim videos ages ago and thinking the idea seemed kinda fun. I subscribed and watched the updates as they came out, but after like a year of development, the game barely looked any different. It was just a series of daft features being added while the core game remained the same boring thing. I just unsubscribed after a while because it was dull and I didn't care about the meme easter eggs (I'm not the biggest fan of anime either really).

This was shortly after the e-mails video too which was probably the first red flag and made him look like a massive sperg. At the time I just thought the guy needs a slap and to be told to not waste time reading or replying to his 12-year-old fans emails. I had no idea he was such a shady, fucked up guy until I joined KF last year and happened to stumble upon this thread. At that time I had already stopped caring about his crap game and now I just chill in here enjoying all of your contributions and waiting for him to do more questionable shit.
