Hello, long time lurker, first time poster. I've been following YS from almost the beginning, first as an original small game idea, then as a glorious trainwreck.
To predict how Alex–TinyBuild partnership is going to go for them, I went back and checked out the timeline for Hello Neighbor:
Dynamic Pixels submitted the game to Steam Greenlight in June 2015, launched a Kickstarter in October 2015 (and failed), went silent, partnered with TinyBuild in summer 2016 (and announced it in September) and finally the game is supposed to come out this month (so a bit over one year after the partnership). Meanwhile, in May TinyBuild secured a deal for Hello Neighbor merchandise.
Why is this relevant? Because if that $30 Youtuber bait fails (especially after they posted a very old and broken alpha as the demo), TinyBuild probably is going to chew Alex' ass to spew out YS in 2018. And we all know it's not going to happen.
As for Jay, I noticed that recently, while half of his YS videos are about glitches, the other half are about mods. Which makes me wonder how some bored kid can implement more content in their spare time without having access to the source code than someone who supposedly works on the game "10 hours a day, 7 days a week". Last bit of new content that got Jay excited for two seconds were shades with "THAT DUDE" written on it. Even Hello Neighbor, while still a bait, has not resorted yet to literal direct pandering.
Which leads me to the final thought: a huge chunk of content right now are Easter eggs, almost all of which will have to be axed, and yet he still maintains them with cosmetic bugfixes:
Also, is the Pose Mode going to be removed as well? Because he keeps making tiny bugfixes to it too.
