Once again Alex makes great design decisions. Bully characters? Maybe let's make them normal, with slight characterisation? No, it's better to make them full-on gyaru, a subculture that has a similar reputation as goths and emos in the west. Also he couldn't make them a more recent look, it just further proves that his only research on his "realistic" "game" is anime. I'm not an expert in gyaru, but I think that he did is some weird mix-up between kogal and ganguro, and both of these were popular in the fucking 90s.

Jesus Christ, Alex, Ganguro isn't even a thing anymore. It hasn't been a thing for over 20 years. And the idea that the blonde, popular fashionista mean girls would be the bullies is a very American one. Gyaru is maybe still a thing? It was in the mid-2000's. But not very relevant cause I'm pretty sure only women post-High School follow that trend.

In fact kids who dyed their hair blonde would be considered delinquents themselves, usually mocked with the derisive use of the word "Yankee" (cause they're trying to look "American".) Many schools wouldn't even allow a student to dye their hair and they'd probably get suspended for it. The idea that spoiled princess with a criminal father Masume gets away with it could maybe be given a pass, but that she has a whole gaggle of friends who do? That's just exceptional. There's no reason they all have to look like that besides that he was lazy and just reused Masume's model.

The sad truth is your "friendly" students would probably engage in bullying by way of shunning and social ostracization because that's what happens in schools and especially in Japan.

Honestly I wouldn't expect his audience to know what Gyaru is since they don't know anything about Japan or Japanese trends beyond anime. But there is kind of the controversial idea that Gyaru is a bit like being a wigga was in the US. So that could make SJWs REEEEEE.
