Do you think any developer from Activision Blizzard, Epic Games, Rockstar, CD Projekt Red, or Nintendo gets to:

Beg for sympathy on the Internet about how making games is HARD WORK!
Get fans to not only promote the game for him, but PLAYTEST the game for him (and pay for the privilege)
Constantly push back deadlines, break promises, and go "I just need more time/money/relaxation"
Get loads of goodwill off of a franchise they haven't even released the first game of

Yes.

Reading emails can be stressful to the mind. /sneed

Good thing he doesn't read them and just complains about having to read them.

Big companies do get to do those things- and they get raked over the coals for it. There's reputation and sales consequences. Profits take a hit and good people get fired. Angry fans never let it go, even after the their grievances have been soundly rectified. Alex does those things and he gets sympathy and praise, not to mention an increase in patrons. Is he trying to be a Professional Victim in addition to the money and praise he gets for being a once-ambitious indie developer?

Oh, and going back to Natsuiro, it's not just on PS4, but also PS3. I can't even imagine how bad the PS3 version is- I imagine it's less smooth and the loading takes longer. Not to mention starting the game up and, you know, installing it despite how small the game is compared to numerous other PS3 games. It's just mainly known as a PS4 game since that version is more well known and the game also came out in 2015, when PS3 was already last gen. It's like how nobody cares that Breath of the Wild is also on Wii U. Or how P5 is also on PS3 (in English even!)

Tell me again why this game has fans.

Alex didn't seem too bad in the beginning, but he started being an asshole to people who legit wanted to help. When he got called out for humiliating somebody who drew Osana, he gave a half-assed apology and wrote that the artist could either 'stay bitter or get better', as if him mocking their art would help.

He should tell the community that he's not doing an update for a while and is going to buckle down and complete a rival for i dunno 2 or 3 months before releasing the next one. Or just release an update with the rivals in various states of incompleteness, the fans will understand and also playtest it for him which will make it go faster. Or just announce that he's going to quit being a game developer because being a streamer is more fun and profitable for him.

The difference between Yandere Dev and Peter Molyneux? Peter actually has a track record of quality and ambition not to mention finished products. If I were a fan, I wouldn't give him any more money until he's finished.

There was a famous set of screenshots someone took of the original Duke Nukem Forever team’s steam group userlist (pre-gearbox takeover) taken at hour intervals during a workday. At any given time more than half of them were ingame-TF2.

It’s one of the things that always pops into my head whenever one of his streaming calendars gets posted.

That game was total garbage, alex its doing the same mistake
Also Alex patreon its recovering like nothing, its like people never watched his bad april fool videos or what he did say in the last update, people that support him are brain dead

its not that he receives free money, its that it promotes scam artists, why should one be bothered with making something good if you can just bullshit about something people want and end scamming them or making something really shitty, it keep happening again and again.
Edit: i forgot to say the most important thing is that they can get away with it

This is one of those hard lessons that I feel the industry overall will never learn from. Star Citizen, E.T for Atari 2600, No Man's Sky, and Duke Nukem Forever came before YandereSim, and there will be plenty of other lazily designed, overhyped games that come after people forget about this one. It's best just to take the piss out of it and laugh at the morons still adamant about wasting their cash regardless.

This is particularly apt now that No Mans Sky is getting an Xbox One port. Hello Games hasn't even acknowledged that the game failed on PS4 and PC, and they more or less ran off with all their funding..

I imagine Alex will be the same way when this game releases and he inevitably tries to port it to consoles (Let's be real though, He'll be lucky if Ouya approached him to get his game ported, The big 3 aren't touching him with a 12ft pole attached to a 40ft pole)

Too :late:.
Hey Alex, i think i found what benefit can give you the gaming club
-the point of clubs, its to take the feature of the game you dont like and completely throw it out of the window
-is reputation your least favorite part of the game? join the cocking club
-is cleaning bloor your least favorite part of the game? join the science club
-is the game your least favorite part of the game? join the gaming club and play a better game

"Stay bitter or get better."
If only Eva took his own advice..

Technically he's following the former, his goal remains to make a game that will impress Mike Z, as his big "take that!" moment.
If only he'd use that bitterness to improve...

That bitterness will boil over at some point, god help us all when the day he releases the game finally comes, the sperg out following all the mixed/bad reviews will be monumental, mark my words, he'll find some way to blame his failure on this thread.

Funny that you mention Duke Nukem Forever, which this game is shaping up to be. You know another game YanSim looks like it'll follow the tragic-tory of? Drive-three-er. A game that began development prior to GTA 3 and released after GTA SA had completed the victory lap for GTA's enormous Generation 6 dominance in a buggy and unfinished state by a dying publisher who tried to utilize "guerilla" media control tactics. Someone will come up with their own YanSim-esque game that will actually have focus, a unique voice of its own, and original art and gameplay and basically run circles around Alex, stealing more and more of his thunder with each and every lap. Not only will Alex's followers actually have the game they've been promised from an outside source, they will have moments of self-reflection about how many new $60 games (or however much they cost in other countries) they could have bought with all the money that slipped their mind and went towards Alex's Patreon account.

The lesson being, buy finished games. You shouldn't be funding games unless you're a publisher or a sponsor and will earn royalties off of them.

Although I'd say Eva very much IS a joke.
