On the second thought, if this is presented with a straight face, then rivals look like targets at shooting range. What if like one of the girls is sick all the time and she comes back after illness, but still in a half healthy state, so she coughs all the time, walks to the nurse room and leaves a trail of napkins, which other students can use to track her down, so you have to take care of it too? Or one of them changed all the schools in the area, because in every school students hate her and bully the hell out of her, so it is hard to find her, cause she is hiding from everybody and she tells things like "I wish somebody like senpai loved me", which could make Yan-Chan feel for her. Or one of them is a fucking winner of a Royal Battle and if she sees you following her, she will go "oh, you wanna fight, bitch? It's on!!!" or that she can't be simply eliminated with a water bucket and shit. Damn, there is an entire ocean of possibilities to create diverse rivals with a personality and parody potential, but he decided to do "anime_cliche_name that goes to school_activity_name". Sorry, if I've become too autistic

The game is pretty easy to want to make autistic fixes to, like the Osana hair pool death I know he`s balding but healthy hair is pretty slick and can be hard to tie in a knot around something, especially if you're trying not to wake someone. He could have used the skill to make a suicide note, tie the weights to her mafia style then shove her in but his creativity turns into cartoon physics in his super serious game.

They all have different reasons for being out.
I think food girl was on vacation, one girl was sick, and the sporty one had an injury. The bully girl I think is going to be a new student? There’s also the creepy segments where a nurse gets attracted, and the substitute teacher gets lusty. The bully girl will have a posse of guys following her, and I want to say that should be the only other one with body guards in the literal sense. Others will be in high profile areas, so it’ll be like they’re guarded... or that SHOULD be the idea.

Right, I sort of want the impending Kickstarter to succeed just so that I could watch the resulting shitshow of Alex having to work with other people he couldn't realistically get rid of (true KF mentality), but I sincerely doubt it would even succeed. Alex's name has been dragged through the mud. No one with talent will want to work with him, and he probably wouldn't pay them properly to convince them. Yandere Sim itself is a dead fad with little relevance left, and what it has is with kids that will not have enough money to support it. This is even ignoring the fact that the Kickstarter will slap anybody in the face with this shoddy "demo" that was the singular result of 5 years of work and may in itself drive a portion of the fanbase away.

I think the Kickstarter will be the start of an implosion, honestly. I'll be happy to be proven wrong of course, but without the money, there will be nothing but this sad spaghetti dish left to eat at the end, and we'll probably get more than one rant about how the gremlins destroyed the game. The "demo" could have convinced people a few years ago, but it's far too late now. It'll look worse than if it were just a proof of concept Kickstarter with nothing but a bunch of nice art.

It's honestly sad how way it is to come up with less terrible decisions without any effort.

Alex actively chooses decisions that are worse for the game because they fit his weeaboo artistic vision better. He wants the rival to have a stalker friend because that'd be more likely to happen in an anime, despite the fact that almost every single possible other option would be better gameplay wise. And not even a good anime, specifically the lowest of the low weeaboo trash anime that thrives on cliches and is allergic to consistency.

Despite all that’s happened, most of Alex’s videos still get millions of views. Interest in the game is still moderately high, so I wouldn’t be surprised if the Kickstarter gets at least an adequate amount of money.

Yes, you are correct. From my observations and from experience of developers i know, for successful kickstarter indie game needs around 10k followers on social media or even less.
BUT most of them asks for $50-100k and other budget is usually covered by publisher.
I'm skeptical about kickstarter, but i wish it will be successful, it would be a nice ride. Without good managment kickstarter money burn quickly. It would be really interesting to see how alex will work with other people (well we know how he work with volunteers but that not the same as work with hired workers).
