It's a problem you get when your game mechanics are broken from the get-go. It's too easy to murder your target so Yandev has to add a gazillion obstacles so that you can't just beat the game in an hour by grabbing a knife and going to town, making murder completely unfun in the process. Any sane game designer would just rethink their game at that point, but...
Hell, the modern Hitman games don't even try to make killing them hard - but killing them undetected nets you big points bonuses, and good game design makes that hard. He has no concept of incentive, only total railroading and piling on 'instant lose' conditions.

Well, if nothing else, it's pretty brave of you to interact with us and it wouldn't be fair to shit on you, because it's not like you have a lot of control over this ... game.
I'm here despite my better judgment and people telling me it will only lead to more drama. I seem to have at least led the conversation in the direction of factual discussion about YandereDev's career instead of personal rumors and gossip, so I have no regrets so far.

I would like to ask a question though: It's okay to estimate, but (in your opinion) likely is it that the Kickstarter funding will happen?
You mean how likely it will be to succeed? That all depends on the goal he sets and how well he manages the Kickstarter. I'm a major pessimist, but I still predict a modest success.

And a follow up question: If it happened and there was an actual team working on the game, if the team's programmers decided to make things happen by using a more polished and advanced coding- would Alex be willing to let them do it this time? It's obvious to me that he likes thinking of concepts and story a lot, so why not leave the coding to someone who's better?
I'm assuming your use of the words "this time" refers to the rumor that YandereDev fired tinyBuild for attempting to improve his code. Considering that's not what happened, and he's already doing a great job working with other programmers, I don't think there will be a problem. Regardless, he's not going to be the game's lead programmer if the Kickstarter is a success.

...Then what exactly did happen with tinybuild?

Dude, PM a Moderator and get yourself a blue Verified Tag. While I highly doubt anyone would try to impersonate you, I'm not going to take you seriously until you are Verified.

I don't think he's ever gonna get a real job as a game dev (even though that's barely what he's doing) no matter what the outcome of a kickstarter is going to be. Yan Sim is completely solidified as a meme game at this point and now there's no way to change that image, not that he actually seems to be trying.

There's not a single company who'd want to touch that poop in its current state. Even the (canceled) deal with TinyBuild was under the strict condition that a real programmer would "assist" him, and we all know how it ended. The chatlog (read OP) between him and an actual game developer is still a good read, because he learnt absolutely nothing on a technical level since then. He's not cut out to be a programmer, he just got lucky that tools like Unity and UE became idiot-proof enough for him to pretend to be.

I'm not saying that another publisher couldn't pick that up, but it wouldn't be based on alex's performances, it would only based on the large autistic fan-base. He'd be relegated to a glorified consultant 'job' while people who actually know what they are doing would rewrite the game from scratch in a couple months

@Cleveland Rock : Assuming you're not a troll, you are incredibly misguided. The whole justification about the VSlice thing was just sad. The only scenario in which he would be doing "a great job working with other programmers" would be him bringing them coffee while they work.

For some reason I completely missed that you cannot talk to Raibaru... that’s really disappointing. I thought one interesting method that could come out of it is that instead of befriending or matchmaking with Osana, the player could spend time trying to do this with Raibaru instead (with the level of difficulty being slightly raised, because Raibaru wouldn’t follow you, so you would have to stalk her and Osana to figure out her interests instead of running around the school one). This way the payer could peacefully get Raibaru away from Osana, allowing an open opportunity to murder Osana.

I guess I thought this was such an obvious method to add that would also be interesting, that he obviously already planned for it... right?

The dumbest part of the whole Raibaru thing is that you could remove her entirely by just characterizing Osana as a teacher’s pet/prefect. Have her move boxes from the school office to classrooms or something that puts her in areas that get high teacher traffic and have her hang out with/follow teachers. You’d get the same bodyguard effect, a usable hook for actual character writing (anger towards a teacher’s pet combined with said pet’s candidacy as a suitor for senpai seems like a good tipping point for moving from murder fantasies to actual murder) and a mechanic that teaches the player that teachers are not to be fucked with and will destroy you if you step out of line around them.

I’m not sure if it was mentioned or not, but did Alex ever describe his plans for what’s supposed to happen after you get away from a murder assuming the body was disposed of without evidence? Does it take a few days for students to notice? Do they comment on the absence? Is it investigated? These are all the sort of things that make Persona’s version of the school-setting-over-time scenario interesting, plus they’d be a great venue for making Heathers jokes.

You know, I've just realized one thing. What if instead of having all the rivals in game at the same time, it was like this - you eliminate one rival, Yan-Chan is all happy now that her crush is free and then "we have a new student" and it happens dozen times after that to the frustration of Yan-Chan. Don't you think it would be better, if you could spin it like a parody?

i belive Yandev wants it exacly like you said. Each week new girl will move to new school\come back to school after vacation\etc.

I thought Raibaru was supposed to be a placeholder for Osana, considering she was made to test out the rival outline. It's stupid to make her an actual character. Alex, if you want to balance the game, fix your mechanics. Don't add characters that were made to be tests into the real game. He was probably too lazy to make a new character for that role or do something even better in general, since a bodyguard is a stupid idea in the first place. (Though did we expect anything else?) No one in real life has a best friend that parades around, being a personal bodyguard for them.

I don't know if I'm late for this... Account is two years old, is this actually him?

That's one of the worst parts really. There isn't a reason at all for Raibaru to follow Osana all day. Even the most devoted of friends would absolutely NEVER do this. It's just downright creepy and not at all how human relationships work. Then again, it's not like he knows anything about human girls.

Fuck I could fix the problem easily too. Make the fucking Chad she thirsts over follow the girl all day. Exact same effect and makes sperating them first make logical sense, and provides an in universe reason for the main characters rage, followed by the other girls triggering her new paranoia over the first murder. It's honestly sad how way it is to come up with less terrible decisions without any effort.

b-but senpai is his self-insert character who is lonely and sits by himself all day and doesn't have a personality!

And Osana is a lame attempt at a Tsundere, an archetype Alex hates, so he doesn't want regular positive interactions between that and his self-insert.
