Once again, I have to ask who is even the target audience of Yandere Simulator. He doesn't want the target audience to be underaged kids because of COPPA guidelines and he even discourages it (and this NSFW shitty gacha game isn't helping either). I would say the aforementioned "hardcore gaming indie anime fans" but even then once again, way too niche and that hentai game crossover is gonna greatly decrease that niche either.

At least Alex might get some funding from this collaboration.

Also, given her birthday is April 1st, she is literally the youngest in her class (were she born a day later, she would go to school one year later, as April 2nd is the cutoff date). So she isn't "16 years and some months" old. She's 16 years and few days old, tops. (Of course, the birthdate can change, but this won't change much)

Pretty much. Ignoring the fact that his game is still jank as fuck to the point where playing Gary's Mod yields more consistency (and Gary's Mod can actually be fun), everything he produces is just so goddamn boring. Were this game actually completed, he'd need to redesign a lot of the characters if he wanted a shot at attracting attention as they suck both visually and personality wise. Azur Lane has a lot of outrageous designs to compensate for their one-note personality. VA11 Hall-A has very mundane designs, but the characters possess a lot of depth that actually gets you interested in who they are.

Not to downplay writing/design ability because it's crucial in the creation process and requires a lot of practice, but conceptualization like what I just spoke about isn't that hard. At the very least being able to peer at something and realize it's fucking boring because it can be described in little under half a sentence.

Even to his target audience there's just literally zero reason to play his game. In fact, it's less than worthless because time spent on that game is time you could be spending on others that are far more well-developed.

And if this is a prep school for people who failed their first uni exams, then 1. everyone would be 18+, not 17; 2. students wouldn't be grouped into years; 3. most likely there would be no uniforms. Academi High School looks like a stereotypical anime highschool, there's no denying that.

Besides, the wiki you linked to is some kid's pet project and is neither an official wiki nor the main YS fandom wiki, which is at https://yandere-simulator.fandom.com (and it says that Ayano is in class 2-1, which I suppose establishes her as a 16-year-old).

Anyway, you'll never get an official age from Alex, as first this would require him to admit the game is all about minors, and second he's incapable of creating a self-consistent timeline for the game.

That Reddit post is one of the saddest things I've ever seen. I feel like Alex is projecting his desire to have had a proper high school experience onto the game. Isn't Senpai a self-insert of his? I imagine that Alex likes to imagine himself having a woman willing to kill for him while having friends and clubs in an actual high school.
