SNAP mode is nice visually, but overall pretty pointless. I feel like the only place it would really make sense would be if your rival confessed sucessfully. And it seems like it'd be more interesting to have an animated short [like the promo] that was more of a personalized bad end for each rival. That's a stretch for YS though, so it's probably better to either remove SNAP altogether or just restrict it to, like, the last rival.

I honestly don't hate SNAP mode. It's one of the better mechanics. It needs polish of course. My biggest complaint is how he rushes the player to get the task done and mashing the x button is pointless if it leads to nothing. It would have been better as a cutscene. Once you kill "senpai" it's a cutscene to see Ayano kill him and herself. As for his point to show the struggle, then show that through expressions and animations. Or make it so you have to mash it, but it just stays there until you do it. The students standing there could be fixed easily. Keep the heroic students as trying to stop the player, but they lose. The rest of the students run and hide. If the player wants to attack them and go on a murder spree it gives the opportunity for them to play a twisted game of hide and seek.

That's the biggest issue with a lot of his gameplay...other than a decent portion of them being kinda pointless, they aren't being pushed far enough.

There's a lot of problems with Snap mode and her stealing a gun and killing the cops then Senpai and herself

A. The cops WOULD notice you trying to take their gun, cops aren't stupid and are TRAINED for those type of scenarios to happen with any given situation. Plus, Japanese cops are trained in martial arts to take down most offenders, so unless Yandere-chan has the strength of 5 Chuck Norrises she's going down like a sack of bricks.

B. Trying to steal a gun would require you to be able to move your arms and hands and any cop worth their badge KNOWS how to restrain a person and lock them up with the handcuffs and unless you are Superwoman You ain'tgetting out of those handcuffs. Last time I checked, Yandere-chan is just a teenage girl, Fuck the training at martial arts skill and she's invincible because she's broken hearted or some shit, she's still just your average high school girl! The cops will restrain her sorry ass and she'll get hurt and more charges to the situation.

C. Say if by some miracle she still got a gun, the other officers will still SHOOT her sorry ass dead. Even if they don't kill her she's still going down because unless she was merely grazed, she will be on the ground in agony unable to move. Plus everyone knows that one gunshot can still potentially kill you by making you bleed out. They are not like bug bites and you can just grit your teeth and power through it like the movies portray it!

TL:biggrin:R : Unless Yandere Simulator is suddenly portrayed like My Hero Academia, Yan-Chan isn't getting away form the police she's going down. I don't care if the game is supposed to be realistic or not Alex is a moron.

Hey, it works on Grand Theft Auto so it must be true.

And Jay already broke snap mode. Alex must loathe him but has to play nice cause he keeps this shit popular.
I'm pretty sure alex loves jay and bijuu, they keep it relevant and that's why alex fucking references them.

I wonder if he's manually mass censoring comments on this video like he did for his "REE GREMLIN" chimpout.

How long till he suicide baits again? "Why do you mean you guys hate it?! guess i'll go kill myself unless you give me more of your money."

Did I miss something? Where are the teachers and students with god-like self defence while Yandere Chan is slaughtering the entire school population? You can’t handwave away the fact people would fight or restrain her during SNAP mode with “she’s an indestructible force of nature” or whatever he said. Just because the world has stopped turning for her doesn’t mean other people won’t still behave normally. They should still flee the school or fight her off, take pictures...

Also, the thing about breaking free from the police, shooting them all, etcetera. WAS incredibly edgy. Snapping handcuffs through sheer force of will? :/
She can...Break those cuffs.

I'll give credit to Alex for the following, although I might gave him too much credit:

1. Still acknowledging 4chan even though he raged at them. 4chan likely was just laughing at Alex now but props to him for still doing so.
2. Actually finally implementing SNAP mode after few years. I actually expect SNAP mode is gonna be her gonna kill a bunch of people she wants, but this isn't bad either. For his standards, this is not bad even if it's minor.
3. Hitting the trending list for gaming. Not a bad win for him.

That being said, the SNAP mode would've been actually much more remarkable if it was implemented years ago especially with games like Hatred around the corner, but it was too late for an above average mode that isn't even a main feature. The idea was expected but implemented well, but at this point when people were asking for the actual main obstacles of the game (e.g. rivals) aren't even done within 6 years, there's really not much reason to get hyped for it. Alex even went ahead and said he's gonna implement similar SNAP modes for other game overs like getting expelled, or having reputation to its lowest (?) which is going to involve new animations and assets.

The SNAP mode during getting arrested is weird. Sure, it's a fictional game but the concept/idea of Ayano trying to break free from the handcuffs after snatching a gun makes pretty little sense. This is definitely the most complicated SNAP mode to implement due to newer animations and you're fighting officers instead of students (unless the officers are just gonna stand there holding guns doing nothing). Thankfully this one was just an idea and not confirmed so far, and even Alex said he will implement other SNAP modes after the demo is finished.

Then there's the promotion for dakimakuras and the 18+ hentai game collaboration which I'm not gonna bother go into apart from he should've just said they're fictional characters and then be done with it. At least Alex can get some extra money apart from his dwindling Patreon and streaming and other stuff.

Overall, not a bad implementation, but released too late. See ya in few more years for another mode to be finally implemented before he can implement the rivals.

There's no way that this is fun.

Like, it was obvious what SNAP mode would be, just a 'fun' mode for after failing your objective where you could kill Senpai and anyone else before actually loading a save (think, an alert in MGS or Hitman, where going buckwild before eventually dying is fun), but it's amazing that he really managed to take away anything that could be fun, and just made everyone weird mannequins who accept death and have the same animations played over and over, with an ugly shader put onto everything, and just to try and make himself out to be an auteur.

It might be fun for like the first time you tried it, but it certainly won't be fun later.

All the effort for years has lead up to this.

When you put it like this, it's kind of ironic. All those "easter eggs" he wasted his time on instead of actually coding... those are closer to what Snap mode should be than Snap mode.
