I thought people were exaggerating when they said it's a glorified cutscene, but even that description is being generous. I do not understand the point of this "mode" at all.
It's literally just an easter egg. A much better easter egg than just "WOW, AYANO IS KIZUNA AI NOW", but an easter egg nonetheless. What he should have done was add SNAP mode quietly, and either not explicitly give the command to the player (so they would have to discover what button to hit by chance) or make it and extremely rare random event. I think this would be very cool if it came out of left field instead of just letting the player return to the menu.

Ethan McQuall gives me the impression of a 13 year old boy who just figured out pretty girls make his pp feel funny. Don't blame him per se, Genka is low key thicc, but keep in mind that this is (intentionally or not) YanSim's target demographic.

You know, if this snap mode is basically "meter goes empty - you lose control over character", then it already was in Vampire: The Masquerade. And for anyone saying "b-but it wasn't made by one man alone"(which is also has fuck all to do with Alex, who has an army of volunteers) epic meme game Hard Time had it fucking decade earlier and it was complete game, made by one person.

Cleveland is taking a break from Yandere Simulator. (?)

Let's make a bet on how fast he will return from his break upon hearing someone talking shit about Alex. I'll give it 2 days plus 3 hours to write another post defending him.

So I assume there will be a lot more criticising Alex in the subreddit now? Or is there another moderator like him?

Yeah, basically what I was already alluding to. I don't blame the kids for being immature and horny, this is more a harrowing reminder that Generation Alpha is being exposed to Elsa Gate, Yandere Dev & other 2010s degeneracy in their most formative years. They're fucked. We're fucked. All future generations are fucked. The internet was a mistake.

Here's a theory I have about the fans: They don't actually want the game to be finished, or at least it's far from their main priority. In reality, fans just want to see the cool videos Alex put out to follow what appears to be the development of a game.

It would explain why there are a surprisingly large amount of fans who haven't even installed the game. It's because the game itself isn't actually this relevant. The important thing for the fans is the YouTube videos and all the other content surrounding the game (roleplaying, fan art, etc.), but not the game actually being finished.

This. The whole thing is a larp to all of the "older" (teen-aged) fans as the realization of Alex's incompetence dawns on them. It's scarily like a cult; now they're in it for the community and not whatever it was they were initially promised. (Of which the've almost literally forgotten by now).

This might sound incredibly retarded, but does anybody find the sound effects of Ayano killing people in SNAP mode...off? I don't really know what it is, but it feels really out of place. I feel like it should be a couple of bones breaking, but it sounds almost like static. People really undervalue the role sound effects have in media, so sometimes it ends up being neglected. Alex needs to get a proper Foley Artist, or at least some decent audio files to use.

She fucking punched a hole through one of the students with nothing but a knife, also

lol

He expects his fans to think she's a cool edgy character, not a blatant self insert "take that haterrrz" towards people who disliked Alex's autistic handholding. If only his kid fans knew this is exactly how he thinks and what he thinks of them.

I'll be honest, after playing the SNAP cutscene, I kinda liked it. even if it was edgy. Kind of. But like everything in Alex's "game" it needs a lot of work. It was also definitely not worth a 6 year wait.

You know what, I would love it if info-chan was a passive aggressive bitch throughout the entire game and if you beat it without her help she just REEED at you super hard. Alas that would take good writing, which is something the game is lacking.

If you're going to be a sadistic murderer, how exactly is it fun if people just stand still in place? Some people freeze up but it's more fun if they struggle or run away, that adds challenge and a murder spree isn't fun without some challenge.

Don't take this post out of context.

To be fair, the main purpose of SNAP mode is just to kill your lover. Even though it adds challenge for other students to not freeze, the challenge for killing as many as possible is wasted since it's optional and you don't even need to do it.

Still feels weird that all students freeze in place which even by Yandere Simulator standards, it doesn't make sense, and even I would personally find it more fun to see students running away quickly if there's a mass murderer nearby. Imagine playing Hatred with literally everyone else is standing there. It might be fun to kill them for the first few minutes, but it'd get boring and you'd want to focus on the main objective.

.... Maybe this is the entire point? Focusing on the main objective aka killing your lover? Think this is giving Alex too much credit.

SNAP Mode shouldn't be an automatic invinsiblity mode as that is boring as fuck. It should be on a timer where you have to search for senpai or something, with the player being sentenced to a harsh jailtime if they fail. Killing others should increase the amount of time you have to find senpai. The students should at least fight back / runaway. Of course you could make the player invinsible and such, but at the very least the npcs should slow down the murderous yandere.
