This is why you shouldn't shit on young artists (or hell, any artist), they're constantly improving and honing their skills. Alex could have privately told this kid "I appreciate your passion, but it's just not the style I'm going for. Keep it up and keep improving!" but instead he publicly humiliated them and was an asshole.

The artist confirmed they were in 7th grade when they drew the initial picture and got insulted (if you live outside the US, 7th grade is 12-13 years old). So yeah, literally a child.
