I've noticed three types of "lesbians" on Tumblr. The ones who view two women as UwU soft, cuddly girlfriends and completely desexualize and infantalize women, the transbians who pornify everything, and the fujoshits who are virtue signalling because see "I have sapphic wlw content too".

The actual lesbians on Tumblr are pissed off radfems.

Alot of them are glorified yuri fans (90% of them sound like they're just an inch away from straight up saying Yuri is the purest form of love OwO) who can't admit they like yuri without making it political because guilt.

Not Tumblr, but recently twitter got tiktoks of a Chinese Fashion Designer in "candid" walks with another woman. Comments earlier scream "OMG GIRLFRIENDS" and "Lesbian Power Couple". The response is so ridiculously overboard that the designer literally has to state in future tiktoks that the girl with her is her sister.

Man one time I went out with my dad to see a movie and some of my little sister's friends (my half-sister, mind, her dad is my step-dad) saw me with him and asked my sister about why I was dating some dude old enough to be my dad.

I'm still quite speechless that there are people audacious enough to force labels upon living breathing people that clearly did not exhibit any behaviors that indicate a romantic relationship. Don't get me wrong, I was fooled the first time. I've seen that incest shit go about all over the internet, but this one is definitely the first time I've encountered that level of shipping outside of porn and fiction. And I thought K-pop stans shipping their favorite idols was exceptional enough.

This reminds me that Yuu Watase mentioned in her ramblings on chapter 23 of Absolute Boyfriend she was at an American event with a friend of hers around the early-2000s, and people thought they were lesbians because they were holding hands (Yuu said she was feeling dizzy and was leaning against her), so they were crying to the sky "We like men!" So the culture shock to her was that Westeners think two women holding hands are automatically lesbians. (It was written a bit differently in the Viz volume.)

Ironically, the normie redneck trash that buys those kind of shirts are probably way more verified in their lesbian ways. You know, "huh, I fucked a girl and liked it, guess I'm one of the boys on the hunt for poon now", as opposed to "damn, gotta make this my identity despite being intensely relevant cus I've never touched another human being".
