Fun fact: Lesbians are significantly more likely to have domestic violence in their relationships than heterosexuals ( https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6113571/ ). People have been shipping TinTin and Haddock for years. The tijuana bible "TinTin in Thailand" released and banned in 1999 has a whole gag dedicated to people thinking TinTin is gay for Haddock, until it's revealed that TinTin is actually super sexually repressed from his Catholic upbringing and the stress of being a role model for Christian boys everywhere. TinTin and Alpha-Art received a ton of criticism because the writer who finished it gave TinTin a female love interest. Everyone agreed it was dumb, but half was because TinTin shouldn't have a girlfriend, and the other half was that having a female companion of any sort would demean his relationship with Haddock.

I’m actually a Tintin/Haddock shipper (I love their chemistry) but accept that that is absolutely non canon and they’re just very good friends. Also even assuming that Tintin isn’t just a celibate Catholic he’s one of the very few characters I can buy as ace.
That being said, the combination of gay + ace AND trans made me go whut.
