This was definitely one of the most pathetic, if not, THE most pathetic excuse I have ever heard from him.

He was being grilled by Jackie, who was completely in the right, and he brings up that God was "talking to" him and telling him that he wasn't ready for a job. My eyes practically rolled out of my skull when I read this chat log.

I know you have information behind the scenes, but I still don't think it's right to say trolls are "responsible" for those things. Chris was already an adult by 2001, even by the standard of the government who keeps letting him use the autism card, so no matter how retarded he is he is still responsible for his own actions. I can see if the trolls "had a hand in it" regarding those videos where he makes a fool of himself, but "responsible" just sounds a little too strong to me.

I never heard this story before but it reminds me of how those stupid anamatronic Bears gave him his name. He seems to believe in fate and higher powers as an infallible reason for not trying at anything. If it's all in God's hands, it'll happen if you're worthy.

The degree of control we have over Chris makes me very comfortable saying we were responsible for those videos.

Chris is only legally an adult. I don't consider him personally responsible for things on the level of a normal adult. Not that he's completely free of responsibility, but it's very, very diminished.

Keep in mind that we coerced Chris into driving several states over to a random address in a random city he'd never been to. Compared to that, getting him to make a random video is a drop in the bucket.

That's why I have always been partial to phone calls and chats over videos he's made. It's more organic putting Chris in a candid environment and seeing him do something because it's what he would naturally do, as opposed to a video where a script was basically given to him by Jackie, Ivy, Clyde, or whoever. I've always seen Chris videos as Aunt Jemima maple flavored syrup, it gets the point across and it's not bad. The chats and calls are the real and natural thing, the real tree blood.

I already brought up the many excuses from the 9th Alec call, but another good one was from the first chat with Colin where Chris is called a racist. He instantly brings up Bill Cosby, an "I'm not racist because I like this person even though they're black" excuse that we've all heard from somewhere before. It's either ruined or made better when he follows it with how much he likes Jerry Sienfield, Red Skeleton, and a whole bunch of white celebrities and completely misses the point on why he brought up Bill Cosby.

Don't forget the doctors who refused to give him pills to control that spastic colon and other autistics, even the lower functioning ones for being greedy and getting all the sympathy, and making him look dumb, uncivilized, pungent, unattractive, dense, and bald...all that stress from being pissed about the autistics made his hair look like a vanishing oil slick.
 
"The hooker I slept with said my dick was big and good and better than the guy she just fucked before and after me" (and pretty much everything that was said about the Hooker incident) was a great Chris excuse for those who didn't believe the "I totes did lose my virginity guys! And my dick is NOT AS SMALL OR AS BENT AS PREVIOUSLY PHOTOGRAPHED!" comments.
 
The fact that he'll never try to get a job because he thinks everyone will find all the stuff written about him on ED and the cwcki when they do the background check, which of course he thinks is a perfect excuse for him to sit on his fat ass doing nothing.
 
I think he's made plenty of more ridiculous excuses (shecameforCWC) but it still amazes me how frequently he finds a way to blame everything on the 'tism or the trolls...

The autism card allowed him to get leniency from the court when he was charged not once, but twice, with assaulting someone. And, he even blamed the trolls for Bob's death (instead of -- you know -- old age, living in squalor, infections from bug bites, having to put up with Babs and Chris), when the Grim Reaper had already promised CWC that he wasn't going to take the Lumberjack until 2015. So, in CWC's world, is he trying to say that the trolls are more powerful than Death?

I think that's because Borb never raised him to be independent. Sigmund Freud thought the concept of God was just people compensating for the fact that they don't have their parents looking after them when they grow up. I don't know if that's generally true or not, but I'm pretty certain that's Chris' view of God. God's in charge, God makes things happen, God's to blame if things go wrong because God is just a larger version of Mommy and Daddy, and should have been taking care of His son.
Except that Chris is scared of Barb, but not of God.

Freud's theories have all been debunked by now but I do agree with your point that God is an unintentional extension of Barb's upbringing.

I think a philosophical discussion with Chris - as limited as it would be - would tell us a lot about his autistic reasoning.

Barb says it in the rental house tour. She says something like "Westons are all royalty" and then refers to herself as "blood kin" to Elizabeth I. Chris sort of defers to her about it, so evidently she's the one responsible for concocting it. She probably went on realancestry.biz or some shit.
