Kinda, but the first couple games are legitimately terrifying. Its not just a painted on skin, the music and the atmosphere really sell the vibe.

You will feel on top of the world one moment, then like a goddam ant the next.

The game is ripe for a XCOM/SCP style reimagining

I'd love to see the game come back as a four-man squad game... but not some online horde shooter, more like Republic Commando. You'd be the advance recon team investigating whatever's gone wrong and everything ends up turning into Aliens as you all start losing your minds and shit keeps going sideways for you.

The only question is what the villains would be. I can see them bringing back Fettle, as there's some contention if the one in 3 was the real deal but we need something really new and interesting.


My choice for the protag would be Alma's kid from 3. I wouldn't mind playing a grown up hot chick with insane psychic powers. Maybe throw in some morality choices with how to use them.


For a location I think the haunted Japanese suicide forest would be freaky as fuck.

I played F.E.A.R. but kept crashing after saving. It's annoying, but I'm managing. Is there a fix for these crashes? I think it's related to C++ or DirectX errors. I haven't had this issue with other games. Also, it seems like the game crashes when trying to open large save files, and other saves become inaccessible too.

Story wise I don't think it's that bad (aside from the way it fucks over Michael and over promotes almas dad as the villain.) With good writing I wouldn't mind at all the potential of having her kid be protagonist in an all new story. Maybe add some drama over her potentially getting reincarnated into her mother if she abuses her powers.

Frankly a stealth sequel would be hype.
