2.(this option seems to be the most likely) She doesn't really believes that, and she just wants to raise her selfsteem by "protecting" chris, that why she has been keeping chris stuck in his shit, because she wants to see him suffer, she wants to see him destroying his life, because she wants feel better with herself, she's not a good friend, or a good person, is just a worthless piece of shit, and a excues for a human being, that's why she keeps feeding chris's paranoia and imaginary problems, if chris managed to somehow develop a better life, she will realize how pathetic and lonely is...

Either way, she's a piece of shit, and she's even worse than chris himself...

Well, it is possible that there are two sides of the story. Maybe Megan did take advantage of Chris and his retardation. And that sucks. But Chris is not a blameless victim, even in that hypothetical scenario. He still acted inappropriately, as evidenced in the e-mails, he still created pornographic drawings and uploaded them to the internet for all to see, and he still acted like an egocentric, entitled, sex-crazed child.

I tend to agree with this. Megan obviously friendzoned him in the worst way - she even made noise about living in the Chandler house for a while.

The only real person in Chris' world is Chris himself, and so Chris will never, ever love anyone but himself.

Despite literary convention, love is really something you only feel for other people. Love is wanting the other person to be happy. Now you may desire certain objects. You may want to possess them. You may admire them and value them. But it still doesn't make sense to worry about an unthinking object's happiness.

Now as far as pets are concerned, well they are people too. Pets have personalities, and with that comes personhood. They can feel happy or sad, and because of that they most definitely can be loved. As could Patti. My own dog is my best friend. I'm gonna go give her a cookie… brb.

For all that animals can be loved, Chris never really loved Patti. Why? Because to Chris' mind, Patti was just a thing. An object. Something to own, not someone to love.

But Patti was not unique in this. In fact Chris views everyone apart from himself as things. He has no empathy whatsoever. Barb, Bob, Megan, Anna, the Nefarious Pickle Man, the trolls, the Asset Protection Managers, the rest of the world and everyone in it are no more real to him than the flat, two dimensional sprites in a game of Doom. He can hate them, yes, but he will never love any of them.

As far as the Megan drawing, what I find most disturbing is that he said that one of the reasons he drew it was to suppress the occasional urge to rape her. That's some fucked up shit right there. (I have major issues with his trivialization of rape as it is.)

Personhood isn't discrete, there's a sliding scale of personhood. A pet rock isn't a person. A pet tarantula almost definitely isn't. A pet snake may or may not be - I don't know enough snakes to say. A pet dog, like Patti, very definitely is. Cat's can probably feel love too, like dogs, but most choose not to.

The Parappa contest is the best example though, since Chris wanted to give Megan a PSP and a trip to Seattle because he was openly convinced she'd finally sleep with him if he did so.

As for the eBay thing, Megan seems to have always paid Chris back, even if she did so with gifts and not money. Chris knew this, and accepted it. He probably loved getting things from Megan, if only because they came from her. He's just bitching about it now because he doesn't want to have her old things hanging around the house, especially now that he's realized if he got cash in return, it was more games he could have bought. Though I don't think his massive game spending sprees began until after his permaban from the Game Place.
