Many years ago, when I was essentially a different person in many ways than I am now, I underwent a similar "crush" on a girl. I became religious, attended all sorts of creepy Christian rallies on campus and did many other things in the attempt to win her. For a brief second it looked like it might work. It didn't. I had a bad fall out from this. Bad for me. I hung on it for a while. Then I began to realize that it wasn't worth it. While I was interested in what happened to this girl I didn't treat her any different than other lost friends. I was simply curious as to where she ended up. I don't dwell on it, and frankly my life has undergone a total change since then.

I moved on in under a year (yes, it took me a while then). Unlike Chris I had a life and goals in that life. I didn't invent ridiculous fantasies. What I experienced was a semi-normal reaction to a failed attempt at a relationship by somebody who had little to no experience with women. I'm glad I moved on, it made me a way better person and landed me my current wife from improving myself.

What I am saying, I suppose, is that if Chris had anything else going on in his life, plus the ability to learn form his mistakes, he wouldn't be making a complete and utter fool of himself for all to see. Because Chris has nothing to do and nothing happening he hangs on to what did happen. Hence his situation. He'll be in his 50s and still stuck on fucking Megan. It's a recurring cycle, his hatred will come back in cycles for years like we're seeing now.

You know, just typing the above story out is embarrassing to me. I acted like a fucking fool throughout it. I'm really glad it changed me for the better in some ways.
