Thank you! It's a little frustrating when you find this thing but its erratic. More on-topic, Chris doesn't seem to be a fan of the humans in earlier generations of MLP.

The new GAMe PLACe will be the Ruckersvillve or Charlottesville theater.

Before you know it, the old one will go under and then Michael Snyder will return as the manager (eventually owner) of the movie theater.

It'll all come full circle when Snyder becomes the owner of the old folks home Chris ends up in.

Fuck, he'll probably be the owner of the hospital Barb dies in, having served as manager of the hospital Bob died in (and the one Chris was born in, too).

And suddenly Snyder owns half of Virginia.

And then Chris, desperate to escape that DAMN DIRTY GOVERNOR gets in his van (with Barb being towed by a winch duct-taped to the bumper) to try and escape to Ohio, only to end up in West Virginia, home of cowboy virgins. Being a tomgirl, he has this innate instinct that tells him he'll fit right in, but he'll dismiss it as either men's butts or trolls telepathically fucking with him.

MLP is something that Chris can do a decent job of hiding from Barb if he needs to.
She doesn't ever step in his room and say "Son, why the fuck are there dozens of tiny vinyl horses scattered around the room?"
Heh, you're assuming she lets him have privacy and/or his bedroom.

But yeah, I don't know if he's buying physical ponies anymore. If he did, yeah, that'd be a bit harder to hide from Barb.

I don't think Barb cares if he has the ponies or not. She might get a bit angry, but won't really do anything about it. Remember the whole Tomgirl thing? She didn't stop Chris. Then again, throwing away pony dolls is a lot easier than stopping Chris from doing something.

If only the GAMe PLACe was a national corporation with Snyder as the leader so the whole thing would seem less pathetic. Or more pathetic, either one really. :T

She tried to stop Chris. Bribed him and whatnot. Barb ideally wants to keep her little boy obeying her in the house, but she knows she can't just force him to do literally whatever she wants. Barb knows, for example, she couldn't take away his ps3 without some serious rebellion. I guess she was trying to do her best to get Chris to quit the tomgirl shit.

Either way, I don't know her position on MLP, I'm just saying that, if Chris had to hide his MLP appreciation from her, it'd be a lot easier to do without physical evidence of it. And Chris knows this.

I'm sure it'll be playing near him. Granted its a limited release, but these kiddie flicks are often packaged with the larger releases when distributors are selling to theaters. So it could end up near him as some sort of Saturday children's matinee.

Now the two qoustions would be: 1. Would barb let him leave the house for that long to see a feature movie and 2. Can he sit in a theater that long without :briefs:

I have volumes 1-7 of the manga that I've never bothered to read. I have no clue why. Apparently there's only 8 volumes, so I could grab the last one and read them sometime. Though no incest? What's the point then?

I haven't read the manga, just about it. But what causes the antagonist to imprison the protagonist for 15 years is that the protagonist
made fun of the antagonist in front of one of his classes for saying something stupid, I think, and the whole class laughed at him. Like, something very trivial. So it more focuses on how one little embarrassment built up into this incredible rage over the years in the antagonist's mind and even into adulthood where he took a meticulously-planned revenge.

In way, it definitely loses the gut punch due to the removal of the incest theme. But in another, it takes on an even more demented quality because
the original slight was so trivial (as opposed to spreading a rumor that the guy fucked his sister and her committing suicide as a result).

Eh, I don't know if that'd be as entertaining to me. I mean, maybe I should reserve my opinion until I actually read it.
But really, if that was what provoked him, then shit, you could encounter anyone like that anytime.

You could step on someone's sneakers on the bus and then wake up in their basement chained to the wall. It theoretically could happen, I guess, but it's not as believable. It's more like a cartoonish stereotype of a psychopath. I'm not as entertained because their motivations aren't as complex.

Although, I'll probably forever prefer the original Oldboy film regardless, because that was the first one I saw. You've got to have a really entertaining film to top my first impression of Oldboy.

I get what you're saying. It's like that scene in
Billy Madison ()
or something. ( :tomgirl: )

Actually I just looked it up on Wikipedia, and it says this, under "Differences from the manga:"

The reasons for kidnapping and imprisoning Goto and Oh Dae-su respectively are also completely different: Goto
unknowingly shattered Kakinuma's self-esteem and left him emotionally scarred for life by feeling pity for him and openly crying in music class when he realized Kakinuma's loneliness
in the manga.

So, uh, that's kind of weird I guess. Also, this:

The manga, which precedes the film, is considerably tamer and less violent.
No one dies in the manga except Lee Woo-jin's counterpart, Takaaki Kakinuma, also by a self-inflicted gunshot on the temple.
Oh Dae-su is significantly different from Shinichi Goto, his manga counterpart. Goto is considerably less tormented than Oh Dae-su; Goto is remarkably calm and stoic, even during his captivity, unlike Oh Dae-su. Also, Goto is a towering man in peak physique at the time of his release in his 30s; Oh Dae-su is also on peak physique, though smaller and appearing to be at least in his late forties; Goto was imprisoned for ten years, while Oh Dae-su was imprisoned for fifteen. Goto, unlike Oh Dae-Su seems rather uninterested in pursuing Kakinuma's ruse through the means of violence, instead initially opting to pursue a peaceful life; his pursuit of his captors is not driven by vengeance, but rather by curiosity, though he is later lured by Kakinuma into their conflict.

The thing about the original Oldboy film too is that it was also incredibly well-made. Well-directed, edited, shot, and acted.

So anyways: http://www.joblo.com/movie-news/spi...s-its-just-as-sick-and-twisted-as-the-origina

MY LITTLE PONY IS DEAD! *Throws pennies at Chris*

I'm honestly surprised he likes the new MLP, given that the show is all about friendship and he's, well, Chris

Why does that surprise you? A color-coded group of stereotype-embodying friends is exactly what Chris has always wanted. What else is the Chaotic Combo?
Chris has always wanted a "cast" of friends to have adventures with, just like on TV.

That's exactly what Chris wants.

That's exactly what Chris wants.

Insofar as Chris understands the concept of friendship, which he really doesn't.

He really doesn't seem to take the lessons to heart. "Don't judge a book by it's cover" as I mentioned has probably been covered. Yet he whines and bitches about the movie.
