He doesn't notice any such thing. As long as Marge still has blue hair and everyone's VA stays the same he couldn't give two shits about anything to do with 'quality'. He liked The Cleveland Show, ffs. That should tell you a lot right there. I'm sorry but you guys are speculating, like, way too damned hard.

Godbear help Fox if they change Marge's arm color

Really? Now I'm kind of regretting not watching last night's Simpsons. Speaking of couch gags, the Guillermo del Toro Halloween one would be another one I'd love to see Chris' reaction to. Has Chris ever seen Pan's Labyrinth, or would it be too scary for him? Would he recognize H.P. Lovecraft, Edgar Allen Poe, Richard Matheson or Ray Bradbury? What about the cyclops from Ray Harryhausen's 'The 7th Voyage of Sinbad?' Or any of the classic Universal monsters? So many pop culture references that I suspect would go straight over his head worked into there.
I think he'd recognise most of it from cultural osmosis (Cthulhu was in South Park and the Ghostbusters cartoon for example), generally they've been many parodies in cartoon shows of horror fiction so he'll likely recognise them even if he doesn't know what books they're all from.

As for liking Pans Labyrinth I'm guessing he'd like the fantasy parts, maybe not the war parts (The torture scenes might give him prickly-wicklies!).

Hopefully I'm not derailing the thread too much, and sort of in Chris' defense, I've always thought of anime characters (at least teens and older) as looking older. For example, when I first encountered Sailormoon, I was surprised that they're 14-16 in canon, and the older ones are in their late teens in canon. I subconsciously still tend to think of them as being 18-19ish and the older characters as being in their early to mid 20s or something in canon.

Which is how you wind up with teenage lesbian race car drivers. But like I said, age is kind of ambiguous in anime. Sometimes characters seem young, sometimes they seem like they are in their late teens to early 20s. It doesn't help that there are significant cultural differences between Japanese and American views on age appropriate material either. Thankfully, as far as Chris is concerned, its purely academic.

The reason The Simpsons was so critically acclaimed was because it was intelligent, witty and edgy in a way that no other show was. Chris, meanwhile, thinks the funniest thing possible is removing all your clothes, spinning around, squawking and yelling random non-sequiturs. If anything, he probably thinks The Simpsons has got infinitely better in the last decade or so.

The original kickstarter thread is closed, so I thought I'd post this in misc and junk:

I see he still takes low quality pictures of the screen with a camera.

@Waifu: If it's his favorite cartoons, I don't think Chris really cares what SJWs have to say. (EDIT: Enceladeans beat me to it)

I wonder if he's aware that, according to SJWs, still calling the cockeyed pony Derpy is an 'albeist insult to those with disabilities'.
Despite popular belief he hardly knows what an SJW is let alone that he's saying something offensive. To him it's the name of one of his favorite ponies and that's that. No matter how genuine his belief in the HRC and other social issues is he has very lax standards. Hell his standards are lax on most things.

Musical saws are a real thing, apparently.

Really, Chris says something about lesbians, but didn't mention the one scene in the movie that heavily implied it, or at least joked about it? Weird.

Unless the ponies or whatever the fuck that is in the pic outright said "WE ARE LESBIANS AND WE ENJOY SCISSORING" then it likely went over his head. Chris doesn't pick up on subtlety.

Chris doesn't pick up on something that's repeatedly beating him over the head like a sledgehammer, either. That "musical relationship" he mentions? Not only is he refering to a purely fanbase-made-up relationship that is in no way cannon or even supported by the show (Octavia and Vinyl Scratch/DJ P0N3 have not appeared in the same episode at the same exact time on screen), but he totally ignores the actual ship tease in the film between two other characters singing a duet.

Specifically the two characters who are more known in the fanbase as a homosexual couple than the one he's talking about.

He only brought up Vinyl and Octavia because those two are being heavily pushed by Hasbro through this film for merchandising purposes, not because they're actually shown in any kind of lesbian context like the actual characters shown in lesbian context.
