Well... Given how little troons are able to convincingly pass or even train their voices, I'd say this at least tracks with some kind of consistency. No maintenance on themselves or on the space around them.

Crossposting from the TF2 Community thread. A member of the forum visited Valve HQ and discussed his visit along with talking to Eric Smith, the only Valve employee left working on TF2, about the game.
Stuffy360, TF2 workslopper and Zesty Jesus hater #1234, visited Valve HQ recently to hang out with Eric Smith.
He had a chat with Eric about TF2 and gave a brief synopsis. TL;DR: We're getting our seasonal slop while Valve does nothing about the bot/cheating crisis as usual for the 4th year in a row while expecting us to pay up. Nothing new.
He mentioned Knockout to Eric.
He talks about TF2 and excuses the state of the game with sympathy for the multi-billion dollar company that refuses to provide a functional live service game.

robin walker stated they did just that in an ars technica article about HL Alyx and how they had to force people to work on it to even get it done.
FP and KO was always the nexus for valve simping and for making excuses for why the pc games distributor is too understaffed to have basic fucking communication and game maintenance.

KO users starting to realize that the guy who 'runs' the site hasn't used it in a year and that the 'surplus' they've been paying off with gold memberships is probably just going into his pocket.

i vaguely remember that. it was quite a few years ago, possibly not all that long after the migration from the corpse of FP. IIRC it came up because they were discussing how long the forum would last on the money left in the FP community fund.
