Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout - AKA: a takeshi's castle/wipeout style battle royale game about platforming jellybeans

rip this game never got a following and its still better than fortnite
There's less apparent skill involved in playing it compared to something like Fortnite. It was always going to be in the vein of those browser .io games, fad for a time that people remember and play a couple rounds of a few times a year.

So this is going free to play in a few days and they got pre-registrations for the beta, which ends in two days and they haven't even reached the second goal (1 million players)
For context, the last goal is 2.5 million pre-registered users.
Epic games store is like a repellent.

Amoguschads... i kneel

I was actually interested for this game when it came out and yet after trying it I found it boring. I do not think it is a bad game it just couldn't hold my attention for long, which I found odd since I used to love playing those wacky modded tf2 servers where you played a bunch of minigames. I wonder if the battle royale aspect is what ruined it for me (since getting eliminatef means sitting in the queue and then waiting for everyone to load up)

The other problem is this game is too easy to troll. Just stand on edges and body block people to their death. Who gives a shit if you win.

Every game is going to have these walking ads for birth control, but the problem is Fall Guys, one guy fucks your entire game, so enjoy staring at that stupid fucking loading screen again.

At least in games like Amogus, a troll can be dealt with, and the game can move on. Fall Guys? Eat shit, no one can do anything.

I actually stopped playing Fall Guys after last year's Ratchet & Clank crossover event (getting that win a Squad game was almost-impossible without friends and I assume the Duos game win was even more so) but I'm considering picking it up again, especially with the game coming to Switch.

Seconding this, I know it's a major problem with OG Slime Climb and player camping out on that last platform at the near-end of the race.

its free now and with that, they reset the seasons back to 1 and the game is just fall guys. they have also replaced the crown system with some other bullshit when honestly they couldve kept it as is. they did at least add some new maps to play

Yeah, Epic basically transferred Fortnite’s V-Bucks to the game via Show-Bucks, turned Crowns into a simple prestige count, made Kudos virtually worthless by only using ‘em for common-rarity items and capping the daily amount to 200 Kudos.

Necroing this thread for a heads-up if anyone's interested: Infallible is piss easy to get during this event. Just win 5 pegwin games and reset and there you go, you're top 1% at Fall Guys. I didn't get it without troubleshooting, (Restart both Epic and Steam) so I figure it is a glitch soon to be patched out, support mentioned that "Those rounds do not qualify you for Invincible (?)"

That, or the Pajeets they got working the zendesk just don't give enough fucks to actually look into the cases at all. Anyway, overall about the game: It's wayyyyy too long to play a single match, loading is excessive on a good day, and it's too easy to get trolled or otherwise messed up by random 12 year olds to really stick to this game in the long run unless you are one of the twelve year olds with copious amounts of free time and a loose handle on just how much of your life clock this game will end up eating if you let it.

It doesn't help that it demands precision from it's player while being extremely prone to fucking up. If I accidentally trip over a cabbage cart in Skyrim and that cart proceeds to yeet me into the stratosphere, instakilling my ass because PHYSICS, it's "Haha, quirky!" because at most I'll lose 3-4 minutes of progress from my last quicksave. If I get caught in that really weird angle in Hex-A-Gone where I can't get my stubby little feet on the hex only to fall because I can't even jump, and I've been working on that win for the last 35 minutes of my life, it's impossible to not feel it was a horrible waste.

Mean, Bubba main. Dissin' my hot gaming tips like that. It's free and cross platform, so I figure it'll always have players. Personally, I got dragged into it by friends, saw a chance to do infallible and took it. Normally don't care about achievements, but it's a last lousy achievement situation for many players, so I figured I'd let the kiwibros know just in case even one dude can benefit from it.
