Fallout 76 General Thread - Bethesda does it again!

It's not wrong though, using a mod to improve the atrocious graphics is an unfair in-game advantage over other players who are ramshackled to the mess that is the stock Gamebryo engine.

I just have to tip my christmashat at whoever came up with this. Mods are, what have been keeping TES and FO games relevant and in many cases made them playable - oftentimes fixing gamebreaking bugs that don't get fixed by official patches. Now, their anti-cheating software is so bad, it can't distinguish between a purely cosmetic mod and something that allows you to fart out nuclear bombs . . . so they ban all mods.
This is just brilliant.

And then they treat you like a little schoolboy that got caught passing on notes during class, just to add insult to injury.

Pretty much every Fo76 streamer uses several mods. One of the main mods simply turns off radios (demonetization) because the in-game settings don't do that.

Every single thing that is pretty much wrong with 76 even down to the fucking bags, has happened before, see the FO 4 pip boy controversy. Yet, re.tards still lined up to buy this game sight unseen. Then try to act like this shit came from left field.

It's not so much 'Bethesda being dipshits', I think, as it is 'Holy shit, Bethesda, could you take ONE goddamn option that doesn't come back to fuck you?'.

None of these issues are new to the industry. Bethesda had to have seen the colossal shitstorm over EA's Star Wars Battlefront 2 and the lootboxes. They have to have someone who's seen badly managed or failed multiplayer/online/MMO launches. What stuns me is that it seems like Bethesda looked at all of these fuckups...

... and said, "Hold my beer and watch this.".

How on earth are they still fucking up? Also I love the delay of a month+ on those rum bottles to put plastic shells on normal bottles if you are going to delay it for that long at least sell the product you were meant to sell for fucking $100 each. I MEAN SERIOUSLY YOU COULDN'T MAKE CUSTOM BOTTLES FOR $100 A PIECE?

They could but it'd cut into their profits so why do it. The joke is that people will impotently shake their fists and complain, maybe make a snarky twitter post or two and then line up for the preorder bonuses of Fallout 77 because the PR-Hobbit promised it will just work for real this time and made two self-disparaging jokes while showing the new water city building mechanic. Bethesda knows this, and they have no reason not to believe this. FO4 as dumb as it was was also an success. The problem is not really these companies making a profit, the problem is people eating this shit up and not giving them any incentive to do better. I mean I love making hyperbolic shitposts as much as the next guy but lets face it, that is exactly what's going on. Also the more pieces of shit they can be to the customer base by cutting corners, the bigger the profit is. That's why games are so shit these days.

My God, I nearly fucking pissed myself laughing when I saw the real bottles getting encased in the plastic ones. Why would you ever fucking show that?
It's fucking incredible how they literally cannot get ONE thing right with anything related to this game. At this point it's gotta be actually, unironically cursed.

Well, this really isn't the fault of Bethesda, it's the wrongdoing of the delivery service... however it is quite amazing how the delivery service and Bethesda seem to be a match made in heaven.
Do we know whether Todd Howard has a brother that owns said delivery service?

A lot of states get really pissed if you break their alcohol laws, especially the ones intended to keep alcohol from kids. As in revoking your license permanently and jail time pissed.
