This is actually pretty pathetic at this point.

Yeah, give them better games made by a more competent company. Remind them of how good games were before DLC, Live Services and Microtransactions.

They were attempting this bribe during the pre-order, during the beta.

Now the whole world knows how shit it is, this offer is even MORE insulting.

I like how they do not include Fallout 3 and New Vegas still. Those games are also old and cheap as all hell, and they should be trying everything to court people back. It feels like they are giving the older games only because they must as a "fine here we will give you this and only this as compensation" rather then any act of actual penance. Because they think they can still make sales off NV and 3.

Technically speaking, they can, but I'll be frank.

No one in the Fallout community plays Fallout 3 strictly by itself these days if they are remotely upset about how Bethseda has run that shit into the ground. Besides, stock FO3 runs like crap on modern systems without a lot of tweaking. It's typically bought only so it can be rolled in Tale of Two Wastelands, the mod that fuses the worlds of FO3/FNV into the same game on FNV's engine, and with the latest build of TTW, they even autopatch the game with several upgrades to buttress the rickety engine structure, and the end result is something far more enjoyable than what Bethseda shit out originally, especially because they even rebalanced FO3 to play by the best aspects of FNV's FO2 styled rules.

Fallout New Vegas is beloved still, so in that respect, Bethseda is right, but it must chap their ass to this day the only reason FNV is loved is because Obsidian did the work of making it not suck.

Honestly the thing that gets me most out of all this is not Bethesda being turbo shitters, or game itself. But that some people and outlets are acting like this is an out of nowhere slap in the face.

I legit have more respect for Bethesda then the people that bought Fallout 76. Because to be frank, you know Bethesda are top tier con men if they can get people to fall for the same con again and again for over a decade, that takes some skill in sleaze.

Everything we are seeing is not new, and has been pointed out for fucking years going back to Oblivion. Every single thing that is pretty much wrong with 76 even down to the fucking bags, has happened before, see the FO 4 pip boy controversy. Yet, re.tards still lined up to buy this game sight unseen. Then try to act like this shit came from left field.

Kudos on the people that bought this game, as the old Ron Paul meme says. This is not your grave, this is the future you chose.

So... to try and eke out some kind of goodwill after releasing a game that actively pisses on established lore... they're going to give away said games for free?

"Ha ha ha, thanks, you're a real sport for putting up with us. Hey, remember when Fallout games were about adventure and interacting with characters and making decisions which can affect the whole outcome of a game? Yeah, here ya go as a consolation prize. Now make sure to log back in to shoot more drago- ah, scorchbeasts to earn more atoms! Only 200 more til you can wear a funny hat! Oh ho ho, so wacky!"

Yeah, Bethesda and Fallout in particular lost a lot of its luster for me with Fallout 4: Building Simulator. For me, it feels and felt like they were just trying to combine way too many different elements into one game and in the end everything suffered for it. Building a settlement? Sure, that's cool. Building fucking TWENTY-PLUS of them? Oh, and what about factions? How about four or five of them, none of them really that interesting? And how about a robot that has 2,000 recorded names? Or how about 8 or 10 companions, and less than half are even at all interesting? Oh, and let's omit the skill system so there isn't any level cap or anything so you can pretty much god-tier your character by doing nothing but building sheds for hours.

What really killed it for me though was their Season Pass offerings. Yes, I'm one of those dirty plebs that actually buys season passes, but in my defense in the past season passes for Fallout games were decent. F3's and NV's expansions were largely great and helped to expand their world. Fallout 4's was two expansions (Far Harbor and Nuka-World), a glorified questline (Robo-Automaton-whatever it was), and the rest were fucking settlement expansions. Blaaah.

What do you mean by "law basically requires you to keep it downloadable?"

As a digital storefront, if they provide a game for their service to you, unless they have some clause stating they can take it back at any time and deny you access to it (and generally they have to do this with some sort of justifiable cause, they can't just dick you over for the sheer hell of it, that violates customer protection laws), they generally have to honor their end of the bargain and allow you access to it so long as you legally paid them for it and they are legally allowed to make it available.

For example, if GOG sell you a downloadable copy of Fallout when they were allowed to sell it with Bethseda's consent, that means you own a license to use the product from Bethseda, via GOG own's store, so if you delete it and reinstall it later, GOG has no reason to not allow you to legally redownload it, and Bethseda cannot prevent GOG from doing so after the fact, or Bethseda would be screwing you as the customer and GOG as the retailer they licensed to sell the product at the time you bought it.

If Bethseda wishes to discontinue selling Fallout games through GOG, that is their prerogative, but they can still provide copies to customers who bought it legitimately freely to redownload since they now hold a legit license through that storefront. GOG is also allowed to hand out copies of extra licenses for free so long as there is no clause in their agreement as a retailer for Bethseda saying they can't.

Apparently Bethesda are such fucking incompetents that players sometimes have their characters entirely deleted, and the Fallout 76 subreddit is so keen to dogpile anyone who shares negative input that some people are reluctant to even report it there.

This is the audience Bethesda wants. People so utterly devoted to them that Todd Howard could shit on their lawn and they would just smile and beg for more.

You have to be pretty dim to fall for getting stupid prop shit from Bethesda at this point, so I don't feel bad for that one utter former shill. Especially since the fucking shop photo hints it's plastic just from a quick look at it. Still though, I'm amazed at Bethesda continuing to metaphorically slit their throats and gargle; it's the true source of fun with this shit show.

Seriously, they couldn't even do a fucking bit of booze right; they could've done a mildly clever thing with a local WV brewery to make a proper moonshine and splice it in with a cola or something to make it a real drink for the fans that get shipped in. They could've even done just a decent prop bottle with a glass maker and some decent labeling. But because they're lazy and cheap, they decided to do that plastic shell veneer shit instead that'll just biodegrade. On top of that, it's another Nuka spin-off rather than something new to experiment with because Bethesda operates on the "I AM FAN I KNOW WHAT THIS IS" logic for fans. Why not do a moonshine with a slight glow effect or some gimmick instead? Call it McFadden's Mix, make it a popular hard drink pre-nuke in Appalachia.

Jesus it's like they want to go out of business.

The main is Bethesda can't tell the truth. I don't think players/fan's would get mad if they come out and tell the truth from the start but they didn't. The fans/players had to learn it the hard way with everything from the bags to the rum, if Bethesda just sent out a e-mail telling people who forked over hundreds of dollars they won't get what was promise or ship the pre order without the bag and the tell them the bag will ship at a separate date.

Bethesda is back it with their classic bait & switch. This time is with fallout theme rum.

Here's video from a youtuber named:YTE who bought the rum.

you can see from the screenshot that the rum is nothing more then a glass bottle with a cheap shell.
It's funny because if they didn't change the bottle in FO4 this wouldn't even be a problem but no gotta make em look lile rockets all of a sudden.

I like most of the redesigns in 4 like the PA and vaults but the Nuka redesign looks retarded as fuck. Gotta sell those overpriced bottles I guess.

Bethesda Is Wielding Fallout 76 Banhammer For Players Using Mods To Improve Graphics
Fallout franchise for many fans is that Bethesda has always made it very easy to modify the game. Mods are a huge part of the Fallout franchise, or at least they were before Fallout 76. So far, Fallout 76 has been nearly universally panned in reviews for a myriad of reasons. Some have complained that the game is too similar to prior iterations, while others lament the fact that the game is online only and you are forced to play against other annoying humans.

The latest thing to irritate fans of Fallout is Bethesda's use of the banhammer against modders. The publisher has been banning Fallout 76 players from the game for using third-party mods to make the game more enjoyable. Reports turning up online indicate that multiple users have received similar emails from Bethesda noting they have been banned. The email reads, "This account has violated the Code of Conduct and Terms of Service by cheating. This account was detected to be running a third-party application, which provides an unfair in-game advantage, while logged onto Fallout 76."

The bright spot here is that the bans that Bethesda is handing out aren't permanent; it lets players appeal the ban by writing an essay on why using third-party apps to cheat is bad. The issue the modding community has is that while some of the bans seem righteously handed out for players using mods to gain a competitive advantage, others who were banned were merely using a shader mod to improve graphics of the game. Bethesda seems to make no differentiation between mods for cheating and mods simply meant for customization.

These bans will do nothing to help sooth the anger Fallout fans feel about the new game. Bethesda has announced it is handing out free Fallout franchise games to Fallout 76 players for merely logging in during 2018. Those past games are much better than Fallout 76, if anyone is wondering.

It's the gift that keeps on giving. Merry Christmas everyone!
Bethesda is banning players from fallout 76 for using mods!
Some are claiming to be banned from the game for using a widescreen graphical fix.

Great job guys, keep it up! Soon you'll make your company more toxic than EA!
What else can you do to cause fans to loose faith in you?

[Bethesda] lets players appeal the ban by writing an essay on why using third-party apps to cheat is bad
Is this some kind of a joke? First off, why this bizarre schoolboy detention punishment? Secondly, if it is this easy to appeal and lift a ban, how is this supposed to effectively keep out legitimate cheaters? Just imagine VAC bans working like this.
