Fallout series

Well if it's done by Obsidian or a large portion of Obsidian's teams works on it it might be West Coast.
They haven't done much on the more Southern lands or in the East.
I always thought southern Texas (maybe El Paso) or Florida would be interesting. I like the idea of killing radioactive crocodiles, Scientologists, &/or Texans (kidding on this)

Midwest was done in Fallout: Tactics though its considered noncanon.
Texas was done for Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel... which is also Noncanon and has one of the lowest Metascores for a fallout game.

I assume it will be on the West Coast again. Although I wouldn't mind it being set in Boston, that could be pretty cool. I wonder if they do set it somewhere new, will they keep all the same factions like the Brotherhood and Super Mutants or explore new ones like the Commonwealth?
I would love to see some background/interaction with the Commonweath. All I can particularly remember is Desmond Lockheart making a brief statement about it in 3, and wanting to see more. I love the Super Mutants and BoS, but it would be really interesting for the Fallout universe to branch off into things previously just mentioned. New places could be easily explored through DLC as well, if they wanted to keep it within the same realm of factions we've previously seen. I would settle for that. Then again, I would settle for just about any Fallout right about now...

Considering I'm going to their E3 conference, I will start the riot myself if they pull that shit.

I'd like to see it in Canada where the raiders say "Sorry" while they shoot at you.

Florida would be pretty cool, too. We already got people jacking off on the roof of speeding vehicles and chewing people's faces off pre-apocalypse. Imagine how insane it would be in the wasteland.

As far as I remember, Fallout Tactics 2 was going to take place as far as Florida within the southeastern regions of the U.S. Had Micro Forte managed to make the sequel, it would of been interesting seeing the post-war region of Florida which would have mutant alligators and such.

If they do set it in Boston then that would be a possibility, the Commonwealth is supposed to be "the Commonwealth of Massachusetts", right?

You're correct. Another possibility is the Pacific Northwest where the NCR is expanding against raider gangs like the 80s who are mentioned, but never seen, in Honest Hearts.

Another fun place would be somewhere that wasn't hit hard by the bombs but degenerated into a complete mess due to the lack of a civil society.

You also have the "Institute" which made the android you encounter in Fallout 3. I would also wager since Boston is a short hop from new York there would be a sizable brotherhood of steel presence.

Wherever it takes place I am kind of hoping for an urban setting again, that was one of the relatively few things I preferred about 3 compared to New Vegas, was exploring more rubble and ruined buildings. Lonesome Road did it pretty damn well, too.

Dunno how much I want to speculate but damn if it does take place in the Commonwealth wouldn't it be cool if the player character were an escaped android... Then again, I have also wanted the possibility to play as a ghoul for a long time (and not with a mod, so NPCs actually react appropriately).

DC was awesome, I liked having to go through the subways system to reach different areas of the city. I also preferred the more claustrophobic city setting to the wide open wasteland.I also enjoyed all the re-purposed buildings. If the new one is in Boston I would like to see what they do with Fenway Park.

Pacific Northwest would be amazing. I'd love to see what a Fallout version of Washington or Oregon looks like. New York would be cool, too. They'd be able to do the city as well as the surrounding areas like New Jersey (DLC probably) and upstate NY.

I would prefer the Boston metro area and maybe some waste land out to Salem.

Fallout 3 is what got me into the franchise (and consequently when my husband and I honeymooned in DC we made endless jokes at various landmarks because of it). Boston would be fun because I live near there, but I sort of feel like it'd be a bit of a rehash of 3 (giant metropolis with lots of countryside). I think New Orleans would be cool though (and would canonically make sense as a target since it is a notable port for US oil drilling) because I'd love to see how they would treat the French Quarter and the swamps. That or Detroit (though it already looks like it's been in a Fallout game IRL).

"Ack, what the fuck are you?!"
But seriously, an option to play as a ghoul or android would be a nice touch, rather than just "male and female with races that virtually all look the same".

And Elder Scrolls games have let you end up a vampire or werewolf, so it shouldn't be out of the question. It'd make radiation less of a challenge, but... seriously, the number of times that radiation has been an actual challenge have been pretty small anyways, and there are probably other ways they can make up for it so it's balanced.

If its set in Los Angeles then I can't wait for the fresh hell Compton and East LA became. And the miles of abandoned mansions in Beverly Hills to the hollow skyscrapers of Bunker Hill
