They sent an email recently with a pathetic bribe of a free copy of FO1/FO2/Fallout Tactics (via Betheseda.net) for anyone who pre-orders F76.

If they were expecting people to buy what they easily get on Steam a lot easier without an overpriced piece of shit attached, they are fools.
I’m trying to figure out how a launcher update deleted the preloads. How do you fuck up that badly.

Was this is a result of their numbfuck idea to go with their own download client apart from Steam? That was the final straw that made me decide not to take a flyer on it. How utterly perfect.

Yeah, the BethesdaNET client fucked up. I’m seriously considering canceling my preorder, this has been such a shitshow.

Especially since they have an MMO department they could have gone to for help on building it since they clearly have no experience. Not even EA's Origin or Ubisoft's uPlay behaved this badly.

They made a huge mistake treating Obsidian so shabbily. No one at Bethesda can write their way out of a paper bag.

Many people theorize that they actively attempted to sabotage Obsidian in the hopes that they would be forced into bankruptcy and be bought out by Bethesda. And yet despite the lack of support Bethesda gave Obsidian on their own engine, they were able to squeak out within one point of their bonus payment score. Which is a bizzare way to grade bonuses, since the games media in large is virtually under the thumb of the publishers anyway.

I think the people at Bethesda don't want to admit that they almost got blown out by a 3rd party studio under intense time constraints and lack of support. You can see they don't really want to acknowledge the game ever existed. Which goes to show the average skill level and work ethic of a massive AAA studio with millions being poured into it. The disparity of ego to ability is palpable.

Bethesda treats their own product and employees like shit so I think they're just dicks.

Oh wll i still don't like that personally
fair point, i just dont see whats wrong with microtransactions when its for entirely cosmetic shit, since i feel that, if any way you're gonna do that shit, that would probably be the best way to go about it.

I just prefer the days where everything was unlocked through gameplay if you needed to unlock stuff

Oh man... I liked fallout 4 too (The voiced protag was a mistake).

But like with elder scrolls, the writing is on the wall with regards to the direction they're going in. Simplify, streamline, simplify some more. And yet, somehow, they still end up with a couple obviously best builds, using the couple obviously best weapons and armor.

I mean, at least Diablo 3 in streamlining and simplifying the way characters are built was trying to simplify access to build diversity, by eliminating the possibility of getting stuck with a shitty build. Not a direction I like or agree with, but I can see there's at least a kind of logic to it.
I don't see that in fallout. They're simplifying, but still have so many obviously shitty options. It's the worst of both worlds. At least with the old system I could build whatever character I wanted. Even if I was trying to play optimally there was still wiggle room for RP and such.

Ugh, good point. Fallout 4 had that problem too, clearly the disk read/write stuff was not at all optimized because I play games with far better graphics that load way the fuck faster.
