Fallout series

The minutemen
I’m curious why you think that. My guess it has something to do with them focusing on community/settlements and support via material, emotional, and moral preservation, via guns, good men, and medical/food supplies. But you can go on about it, since I’m not you and don’t know all the things you could be alluding to.
The minutemen almost died out because of the very same self-serving corruption that plagues any collected group of individuals. The only reason it works is because you, the player, are the only one doing anything.
I could forgive the minutemen if they attempted to integrate some kind of system where you can send soldiers to defend settlements, but even with all of the big fuckoff guns and turrets you can give a settlement, they still fall prey to a little group of raiders on the other side of the fucking map? Nah, that's beyond immersion breaking, and a poor attempt at simulation otherwise.

I get being the only guy that can realistically do anything, because it's a single player RPG at it's core, but the line in the sand was drawn when Preston basically told me in the politest way possible that he doesn't give a fuck about my missing son and would rather have me do errands for him until HIS group is satisfied. Fuck right off, I'm joining the brotherhood and massacring robots and mutants until the cows come home. At least they actually seem to respect you.

It’s ironic that those who welcome you with open arms will always be the super-powered bigots in fallout.

Oh man speaking of autismo mods like DUST that are pointlessly hardcore, i dunno if anyone brought up Obscurum Pandemic before https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/59344

TL;DR its this uber edgy overhaul that just strips everything off the map for pointlessly hard zones and enemies ala dust

Its made by this semi schitzo commie that apparently has a rep among the already autistic fallout modding scene

Ranking Fallout 1 & 2 below 76 shows just how dead gaming journalism actually is. They're probably listed so far down the list just to get clicks but if it's sincere...
The only way to rank 1 and 2 below 76 is by ignoring the writing and also intentionally ignoring that you're comparing a modern 3D FPSRPG to nearly 25 year old top-down turn-based RPG. They're comparing a fresh but worm-infested apple to a piece of dried fruit. I'd still rather have the dried fruit.

Personally I lean towards Mr. House as being a visionary with old world knowledge of tech and a new world knowledge of politics, while having the timeless understanding of how human beings work.
Personally, I lean towards Thomas Edison who has all those things plus the added benefit of knowing how to steal it if he had to.
T. Independence enjoyer.

76... is not better than 1 or 2 at all.

Though I do actually enjoy it more than 3 or 4.

Hurr durr I'm a millennial without the brains to spend literally 1 minute to figure out how to play the first two, gib me muh generic FPS/3rd person over the shoulder gameplay and hold my hand through literally every aspect of the game. These old games that required you to use a minimal amount of brainpower suck, I need muh color coded dialogue options and quest markers or I correctly feel inadequate and must go coom

The fact they didn't have Fallout: Tactics but the had the shitty BOS game shows you everything you need to know. They know the first two exist (because the one they know of has a "3" on it), and of course they know of BOS, because it was X-Box and PS2.

FO:Tactics is actually pretty important to the fucking lore, but of course they don't fucking know it.

As someone who has played both BOS and 76.

This is wrong.

BOS is orders of magnitude worse than any other fallout game.

I lasted several minutes longer with BOS than 76 before uninstallation and that was a real big deal to me

well I don't know what to tell you.

BOS made me want to die when I played it, 76 never did, I actually get pretty relaxed playing 76, some kind of zen thing.

Like Animal Crossing but with more murder and 50's americana.

I do believe I have the definitive litmus test of who you are based on your preferred new Vegas ending

Right? I think Obsidian even mocked it by calling it "Yes Man", a name referring to a weak sycophant who just goes along with whatever a leader does.

What happens after The Courier dies? Vegas turns to complete and utter shit unless he decides to put himself in the same living hell House subjected himself.

I'd agree with this listing, except I'd add FO:T above NV just because once again, I find the older isometrics better to play than the modern but extremely janky 3d games. I have no comment on either BOS or 76, didn't play them.

As for the last bit, eh, to each their own. I just find it amusing when younger people who got into the series with 3/NV feel the need to go on some crusade against the originals just because they strolled onto NMA. I was unaware anyone took that place seriously; only ever went there to grab some mods.

What's your feeling on the Wasteland series (particularly the 2nd and 3rd)? I feel they're the successors to Fallout Tactics.
