Eh, it was okay. It has some retardation but it has its bright spots too. The original concept for Van Buren was full of absolutely retarded shit that would have basically made Fallout Borderlands level of nonsense so I appreciate Bethesda bringing grit and tragedy back to the setting.

Just came across this article from bethesda. Apparently fallout 76 is getting a map expansion to the south, into the shenandoah valley
Probably a desperate attempt to cash in on that shit tier tv show coming out in april. Seeing how bad every previous update has been so far I can't see this one being any different. They should concentrate on using the parts of the existing world they haven't done anything with, like the entire north western part of the map across the river, instead of expanding the size of the world itself
But it wouldn't be fallout 76 if they didn't make shit design decisions

As far as youtubers go, I really liked Paul, but he'd been having problems for awhile so it's really not that surprising. During his first hiatus I had to go to his discord to find any information and be told that all his jokes about being an alcoholic weren't actually jokes. It sounded like he was doing better for a bit until he went silent again.
Sad to see him go like that. Hope his family is doing okay

Fucking shit I was really hoping he'd get over the booze a bit and maybe get his life back together. Can't even imagine what it's like for his family, deaths around Christmas are always the worst.

Dude was hitting .35 nightly, at that level of alcoholism you're almost guaranteed to die. Even of you get clean somehow your organs are shot beyond repair.

Yes and no. At 27 he'd have done some fairly serious damage to his liver, but nothing beyond repair. The liver is good at that, it's one of the more self-repair capable organs.
Up until it isn't. You see jaundiced dudes as early as their late 30s. Usually they're fucked by their 40s, but even then it's survivable.
You can have brain issues. Hepatic encephalopathy, which is secondary to liver damage, is one. Thiamine deficiencies, etc.
I've got a few months sober under me. I drank a lot, but not at the same pace as him. I liked Paul's content. Really sucked to hear he didn't pull through.

Is there like more proof or is it just the obituary page? He does have like a million followers on YouTube, and people can just create fake obituaries, like when someone made one of Barb. It wouldn't surprise me if someone made one to just fuck with people.

Some of the typing makes me lean towards someone who isn't well skilled on a PC, namely the spacing after periods, but I still take everything he says with a massive grain of salt.

That said, people really tend to underestimate how easy it is to drink yourself to death, even when young. Just takes persistence and moderate alcoholism. Chances are even if he'd avoided drinking himself to death at this point he'd have done so much damage to his liver already that he'd be fucked in another decade or so anyway

His last community post had him explaining he is struggling but is slowly reducing the number of drinks in his life. While that is a good way to solve it and not risk going full cold turkey, its very likely his body was already dangerously messed up from all the close calls he had (one of which had forced him to wear a fucking diaper for a whole day until he got bowel movement control back). A few posts before also had him relapsing back on his old ways but trying to get back on the detox. Multiple times he said he was brought to the hospital having an alcahol level so high it could kill a grown man multiple times over (so it was a god damn miracle he was able to bounce back those times).
I guess my point is that it really feels like the damage was already internally done and either it was too late already or the lesser amounts he had were still fucking him up. There is always a chance he relapsed again and this time his body wasnt able to handle it.
Reminds me a bit of Markiplier and a condition he had that removed the capacity of his body to handle any alcahol. He says with no exaggeration that if he drinks, he could legit die from it (one of the reasons that Drunk Minecraft was discontinued, Mark just cant get drunk anymore)

For some reason, whenever I get sick I always get the coolest dreams. The one I just had was about a trailer for a Fallout game set in China
