Fallout series

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
As someone who has never played the games, can I get a quick run down of how the new series looks like it will shit all over them?
This series isn't canon nor should it be considered as part of the franchise. This is Brotherhood of Steel 2.0, even Fallout 76 is more canon-worthy than this shit.
As somebody who played the series for over 20 years, I don't give a single bit about the new TV show. I will laugh at how bad it is, of course, but I don't plan on watching any of it except for clips that will inevitably end up here, on /v/ and /tv/

True.
We need to play again FO1 & FO2 unarmed builds and killing either Master/President Richards with unarmed critical punches in the guts, like God said.

i can't
i'm supposed to be a tribal yet i snark like a fucking milennial while everyone else in my tribe looks at me like i'm the absolute retard that i should be
Based.
Well, you lost.
Was pretty funny both unarmed playthroughts. Taking slayer was the best game changer i've seen btw.

I know that one anon has documented his oldschool Fallout unarmed walkthrus on 8chan's /v/. I'm busy watching Jim's stream right now so I don't feel like looking but I'm sure it's there somewhere, if you want to get an idea of what a build like that looks.

i hate running after opponents though
and i still can't stomach the first few hours of 2
Temple of Trials aside, I actually find the beginning game of Fallout 2 very enjoyable. Not as much replayability as Fallout 3 or NV with how open these games are but there are options for where to go first, there are even some crazy people making a run straight for Navarro to get APA and energy weapons early. Fallout 1 on the other hand has a boring first act unless you are sequence breaking: Shady Sands->Vault 15->Raiders->Junktown->Hub->Necropolis
It can get tiring on repeat playthrus

Wait so if shady sands is now a giant crater, does that mean not only did the courier launch the rockets during lonesome road, but they DID directly bomb the ncr /also legion(maybe), and not just the long 15?

So they turned the biggest, most technologically advanced and populated capital of post war america and turned it into a Fallout 4 ruined city, then
lol, lmao even. This is a straight up /fog/ shitpost

Bethesda seems to hate the west coast period so if they made any ending canon it'd be the one where they nuke both so they don't ever have to talk about em again.
Ironically enough they actually told Obsidian not to talk about San Francisco in New Vegas(it was going to be nuked by Enclave as retaliation for destruction of the Oil Rig) because they wanted to put the bridge and mention of Shi in Fallout 4

Fallout has completely turned into Slopout when 4 rolled around so the show was always gonna be shit. For all its faults 3 at least kept to the original aesthetic of Fallout, while 4 injected it with a liter of soy.
We are at the point where the majority of things carrying the 'Fallout' brand in the title are almost completely antithetical to the original game and world. And some of them like Fallout 76 and this abortion of a show are basically antagonistic to the fans of the original games and New Vegas. But you could say that for just about any media franchise at this point from Star Wars to Lord of the Rings, video games, and so on.

Thinking about it now, no it probably wasn't the nukes, that requires player input and bethesda doesn't like making choices canon.

So what got shady sands and the ncr? The Tunnelers. Its heavily implied throughout lonesome road that they're heading towards ncr territory and bound to fuck things up. And that's gonna happen no matter if the player does anything or not. Looks like we get to see the result of tunneler fuckery: Big ass city sized potholes.

I just finished a gigachad 10 INT, 10 STR, 10 END Legion run and already want to do it again because the show is going to be awful.
Halfway tempted to play a female courier, even though that's just impossible

The tunnelers plot line was always super fucky because the damn things are literally scared of the fucking daylight and the NCR could just shine bright lights at them to scare them off. If the NCR can deal with death claws, super mutants, rival regional powers, the West coast BoS, the Enclave, etc, then they can most likely deal with some shrimpy ass wildlife. My guess is they'll use nukes again and couple it with the east coast or Midwest BoS launching an invasion which we seem to be seeing with some of these shots. So yes, the NCR is Canon but Bethesda decided to kill it and we're supposed to side with the guys who did it.
