I disagree with the sentiment that it's entirely ass, yea the VA work is rough but it still runs surprisingly well for a 10 year old quest mod.
Plus you can run a bunker of your own at the end and that's pretty neat.

The story and characters are fucking stupid. I mean, you got some irish man and a fucking ghoul running around an Enclave compound, what's up with that?
Well, in any event the F4 mod that's supposed to be a sequel(I think) fixes that and they focus back on racial purity, like they did in F2. There is also another Enclave mod you can double dip with that one that adds a cool submarine base and a Frank Hoorigan like companion.

Holy shit I completely forgot about the ghoul lady. Yea she only existed to spout dialogue, she doesn't even tell you that she's General Jamison's ancestor.

Honestly I hope he redoes the FNV mod, bring it up to standard with his later work.
The Dornan cameo is honestly kinda cringe because the VA sounds like he's trying not to wake his parents up, which may very well be the case considering the early days of modding.

I started role playing a character I based on a Ted Kaczynski like schizo. He lives in an abandoned trailer home and primarily uses only stolen or improvised weapons. He steals food and supplies from the NCR and caravans. He doesn't use chems, but is an alcoholic. Also he hates robots.

Appearance-wise he's balding has a survivalist beard and wears a Brahmin-Skin Outfit.

Fallout 76 can be pretty fun yeah.

Tis the only game I've found where you can roleplay a schizophrenic drug addicted conspiracy theorist with way to many guns hunting cryptids to "find the truth" and then actually find some goddamn cryptids.

Did the same thing where I tried doing an explosives and small arms only run. I killed only NCR and only sided with legion because it wasn’t a robot at the helm. I’d recommend this run if anyone is looking for an interesting challenge. I’d recommend making your house harpers shack because it has a crafting bench and lots of storage. Unfortunately good housing is hard to come by in NV because one wrong step and deathclaws. Though usually I can just fast travel there unless vipers arrive.

I see you prefer the gritty yet funny side of fallout. I don’t personally agree with the placement of 3 because I think 3 had a better atmosphere and DLCs. Your welcome to call me a retard for not liking Nuka world that much. I just don’t personally enjoy how much of fallout 4 base game is entangled in the DLC storyline. I personally prefer the feeling that it’s an entirely different game.

I mostly agree but can go either way with Tactics or 4 depending on my general mood at the time.

4's weakass story and role playing elements honestly are in my opinion decently compensated for by just how nice the gunplay feels, even if a lot of them look like trash, which we can thank Id for, and just how god damn modular it has become thanks to mods. I still standby the fact that Bethesda actually showed a better idea of how society would be rebuilding in it than in 3, and the map is more enjoyable to explore, though I am a bit biased as I have been around the DC area A LOT in my lifetime. It's one of those games where for every flaw it has I can find something about it I think is decent enough to balance it out somewhat or an actual strength, like with say Nick Valentine, to actually win me over. Also I like the settlement system a lot.

That said I often keep the classic trilogy and NV installed more often and for longer as they are easier for me to get a quick fix or try new mod set ups with them than dealing with having to sort through my archived mods that got taken down from the nexus by trannies flipping out over collections and shit.

I'm working on modding Fallout 4 and I'm (obviously) going to side with the based brotherhood of steal and I'm not 100% sure how I want to build my character. I'm planning on using power armor for sure, but I'm also planning on using automatic rifles like AKs and Mk18s (but maybe getting an energy rifle mod as a backup). I'm also planning on getting the Point Lookout mod.

Download that Nazi mod and roleplay as an aryan supersoldier. Make everyone white while you're at it, the former is found on Modding Heaven and Based Mods.
I remember there being a whole bunch of "Nazi Power Armor" painjob mods but they have been purged along with every "problematic" mod quietly snuffed out a long time ago from nexus. Still, if you're not up for using Power Armor I know there is plenty of mods that add German uniforms and even Wolfenstein armor. Game already has a good selection of retro WW1-WW2 weapons but there is bound to be plenty of mods for more.

I should've clarified that I wasn't sure on exactly how I should allocate perks and special points. I will take a look at those two sites in addition to the nexus though and see what I want to use.

Sidenote, replaying Fallout 2 again and in the process of doing a Nevarro run and let me tell you those Enclave Patrols are bullshit.

But regardless I got some awesome shit out of it and the rest of the game is pretty much EZ mode since I got power armor at level...3.

I'm going through arduous process of installing NV and updating it for modern machines. I'm using the Viva New Vegas install guide.

Im actually thinking of doing a very similar survivalist character. I was mapping out the character in my head. High INT, low CHA, tags explosives, repair, survival. I was going to use alternate start mod and put him out in the middle of nowhere in a shack. He is going to be a Teddy K-like character except he loves chems. He only wanders into the 188 Trading Post to sell his gecko skins and busted service rifles he picked off dead troopers. But for the most part, he just crafts homemade weapons and rat steaks in his filthy shack while drunk off his ass.

I'm going to download the someguy series because of course. Anyone have any other good suggestions for additional content mods? I may try Dust again if I'm feeling like I hate myself.
