When I was a kid I wanted to be a Biker/Samurai/Roman Legionary, and New Vegas is the only game that catered to that fantasy of mine. Leather armor+katana+joining the Legion gang gang.

Shame House is not in it and some of the mechanics are really old
Ironically would have worked better in Victoria 2 or EU3

it's a shame that fallout new Vegas isn't as popular as it should be now if they just created fallout new Vegas extended ultra deluxe edition with all of the cut content and all the things they wanted to put into it you could charge me 60 bucks for that but at this point I'm not buying another fallout game

Yeah there's so many reasons I do adore Fallout New Vegas.

Besides what you mentioned I liked how there's stuff in NV that are really simple in concept left a lasting impression on me. Boone comes first to mind, Boone is one of my favorite NPCs in any damn video game. I love Boone's story because it's really down to earth and just tragic. Just the first quest was memorable to me.
Mechanically there's nothing special about this, you talk to an NPC, you then talk to another NPC, you follow that NPC, then you put on the quest item and the NPC's head is blown off.

Of course it's the story & writing that makes it special. You're helping a man carry off a well justified assassination, the wretched old hag sold the love of his life to what essentially is a sadistic rape & pillage gang. Boone's story progresses and he's had to do some horrible shit. For Boone's endings there's no great happy conclusion, he either continues getting revenge (and usually dying for it), lives as normal of a life as one could in such a bizarre hellscape, or he becomes a mercenary. All of them just feel plausible for such a character.

I've never seen anyone mention this while praising NV, but it's the only modern Fallout where your companions get endings and they're not only based on your endgame options of who you side with but how you complete their quests. I feel New Vegas is the one where your companion characters actually feel developed. Hell the whole world is just insanely developed.

Bethesda and Obsidian just had different storytelling goals, and NV fans get stereotyped as obnoxious because if you love what NV delivered on Fallout 4's story felt like such a ridiculous downgrade. For crying out loud they removed the dialogue choices!

It's not even really a modding 'scene' in Russia either, from what I gather. It's one super-autist in Russia that built Sonora and 1.5 entirely on his own with almost zero help, and like one team of a few guys who made Olympus (that are now making their own actual RPG?)

They don't translate it into English because that's already a ton of fucking work to make the games themselves, then when they do you have whiny cunty western Fallout fans like Ramblelime whining for literal paragraphs in their videos about how insensitive and racist the based Ruskies are for their depiction of tribals or racism in a nuclear apocalypse. Like how you can threaten to cut a guy's black balls off and shove them up his black ass in Olympus. Would YOU want to make an RPG for an audience that would freak out at you for this sort of thing? I wouldn't. Keeping it in your native tongue gatekeeps it.

And the Sonora translation team fell apart on its own, I don't know why exactly, probably because of trannies and discord shit. Fucking RIP because I want to play that shit so bad I can taste it.

At this point I would rather they leave it untouched. No way modern devs wouldn't censor or remove Legion content even if they expanded them elsewhere. Caesar's boys being big sexists would be nerfed, for sure.

Not even. I expected them to make something AT LEAST on par with Fallout 3, but they failed that already pretty low bar. They couldn't even be fucked to give you binary good and bad choices. The majority of quests and locations are literally just Raider shooting galleries. It's barely even an RPG, and even compared to Bethesda's previous offerings the world you get to explore is dull and lackluster. Interesting locations like the robot racetrack and the fighting pit were cut in favor of shooting bad guys, and there is virtually nothing interesting or cool to see.

Not exactly on NV's level but during my time playing SWTOR, I know consoomer tier slop, I got a kick outta playing a light side Sith Warrior. You are such a fucking troll it's hilarious, like at one point you just mind fuck someone and leave them too confused to act by starting to recite the Jedi code of all things.

Recently watched Episode 06. They went full out on a She-Hulk monologue moment with Cooper Howard's black wife.

In a flashback, he is talking to her about Vault Tec and she goes on a short rant about how much she had to suffer at home while he was off fighting in war:

Basically, the moral of the story is that women suffered during the war because they were sitting in the comfort of their own homes, checking the mail and waiting by the phone on the off chance their husbands died. What a cruel world!

So I liked fallout series. Didn't love it. Just good enough for binge watching. I wouldn't mind season two.

Now I am playing the game and fuck they talk nonstop. Combat is gay. Everything feels unpolished.
