Is the TV series any good? I've been getting weird mixed signals over it.

I thought it ranged from Meh to Ok up until the last episode, which ruined the series for me. It made extremely retarded choices that annoyed me to no end, but Its clear some people involved loved fallout and put a lot of effort into the show.
Its better than the Halo TV Show but its not a great show.

So I made a New Vegas mod after the show dropped, editing every NCR character to make sure they're all lore-compliant with the new revelations. GECK's interface is laggy as hell so it took me much longer to do the edits than I anticipated

The TL;DR, it’s fine but ultimately forgettable. I haven’t 100 percent finished watching it but I got 2 episodes to go and nothing really 100% sticks to me aside from two of the characters.

To actually answer your question not that I have time. It’s fine if your not massively into the games, A genuine rating I would give it is 6 but closer to a 5. The dialogue can suck at times and a lot of the characters do some really stupid things at times, the show even does stupid things at times spoiler: at one point the main character gets her finger clipped off with 0 blood and they literally just staple the removed finger but earlier in the show someone lost their foot and it was this gorie scene where the guy would loose alot of blood and had to staple add a special leg to them.

If you hate marvel humor this show will annoy you. They had one whole joke that I actually liked and still had not only fumbled the ball but still found a way to make the scene stupid. Spoiler: it was the scene where she holds a mister handy hostage and the raiders respond with “dude it’s a fucking robot” if it just ended there I would of actually laughed but marvel comedy dictated that it needed to be longer and more unfunny. The rest of the scene was dumb too. Also IDK of weed stoner brah personally types belong in the fallout universe. one of my friends accurately described the show as “post nuclear zombieland” and it was absolutely on par, I’d much rather have Shawn of the dead humor personally.

Genuinely if they wanted a better show they could of just had goggins (the goul/justified actor) and maclachlan (the dad/twin peaks actor) just be the show and have the other characters as sides because if they did write them pretty competently (bad guys and these guys) you could have had an pretty interesting show. Instead you get actors who do ok but can’t tell emiel that her writing is fucking dogass without being fired (accept this one this one’s actually an underrated classic, please help the writer finish their love quest)

There’s also mild sperg lights that flicker in my mind for example I don’t know why there’s so many junker cars from the 1940s scattered everywhere, just get some wrecks of some early 60s cars (like the failed Chrysler cars of the 60s) they have odd spaceship designs too and will mostly fit in. Some of the equipment looks like it was probably made from 3D printer blueprints that cosplayers have made, I don’t know why you can’t just make a pipe rifle out of trash (like legitimately if I wanted to make a fallout gun RN I could just make it out of things from a trash bin.) All the vault dwellers are not at all chosen wisely, this cooperation that has limited space in a giant concrete bunker you are only picking out the best people from each area (I think most vaults can only fit like 150 people max). (not even including race) there’s a lot of fat and ugly people who seem average who were chosen and if you were to actually have a life saving vault I’d imagine you would only want the best of the best. Sorry to inform you but if this company existed and the nukes dropped tomorrow you and I are becoming feral ghouls. F3 actually had a trope where you would open someone’s mail box and would find letters saying “your rejected from the vault” so I’d imagine the logic applies to the show.

If you want a genuinely good show that’s free and isn’t supporting corpos, fallout nuka-break is an absolute classic. The show was so popular at the time infact (for fallout fans) that it obtained a weapon in the game Fallout New Vegas as appreciation of this project. Any criticism I have of the official show that also happens in the free YouTube show is different because it’s not an officially licensed product and should have some room for people who aren’t “professionals” at this job. Although I actually remember them putting more effort into design then this show actually does (the ghoul in this show doesn’t look as ghouly as the one from nuka break). I will say this it’s been a hot minute since I’ve watched the show so I don’t exactly remember everything 1-1 but I watched it more than once which I probably won’t say the same for the official show. It’s amazing what a bunch of fans accomplished with a crowdfunded budget.

I’ll leave with saying some decent things about the show aside from praising veteran actors, the show overall doesn’t look too bad and if you want a TV show that you can turn your brain off too this one isn’t the worst. It’s not what I’ll call nurse TV (like parks and rec where you want something non thinking and inoffensive to vege out to from a long day at your nursing job), but it’s a relatively okay show. It’s definitely a 5 minutes of fame show I think the only ones who will remember this is howler (I apologize for speaking the name of the devil but he is the target demographic for this show). It will most likely get a season two but it will be dropped. I’m mostly interested with what will happen next season but I won’t spoil it for you (the ending is probably ramping up season 2 to really piss off obsidian fans).

Oh please, Boone highlights enemies when you ADS. Combine that with EDE's Enhanced Sensors and snipin's a good job, mate.

Cass also lets you ignore the penalties from getting boozed up, which is priceless. Snag a companion mod like JIP C&C and you're running around chugging whiskey and scotch non-stop for the Str and Cha bonuses as Boone points out where his alcoholic boss of a mailman needs to shoot.

Just because you watched a Warlockracy video doesn't make you well-informed about Fallout. The reason for the Slavic Scene (barely one) is their age. Born after the collapse of the USSR, the ruins of a once-industrial nation show its years of preparation for "the big one." Sounds familiar? The Russians felt that experience, but not in that Leave It to Beaver aesthetic. Unemployment, starvation, and abandoned cities just contributed to their love for the classics. Because Todd Howard doesn't know how to do post apocalyptic video games you should stick to fantasy and maybe you'd eventually get Elder Scrolls 6 morrowind is actually one of the best Elder Scrolls games you should check it out if you ever have the time
but none of the ones before that they kinda don't hold up very well and they constantly crash

It's partly Amazon's fault. Yes, I know Todd Howard is the show's executive producer, but remember that one of the showrunners only has credits for the recent Tomb Raider and Captain Marvel movies. From going through social media, the "human beings" on them will just call you Captain Buzz Kill or a New Vegas Eitist for just having bad vibes about the plot.

They'd sooner let IPs collect dust like every other major studio and corporation (in the case of Microsoft) than let someone else potentially do better than them and reap the rewards. i have finished the show and, controversial hot take incoming, i liked it. I know, shocking, but let me explain
as a person who does not give a shit about fallout lore and think it's autistic to hyperfocus on it, as a standalone show it's perfectly fine. definitely got that fallout aesthetic spot on though. as for the more spoilery bits:

my understanding is the shady sands thing happens right after new vegas but shit was popping off early and post new vegas was the climax of it all. as for the corps starting the war for profits so they're the sole company at the end of the world, yeah i could totally believe that shit.

If I can give Fallout 4 any credit, the companions are by and large better and more pleasant to have around.

Honestly, half the companions in this game just irritate me to a point I don't care enough to travel with them or any companions for that matter.

• Piper is an annoying selfish cunt who can't stay out of other people's business.
• Cait is a selfish alcoholic junkie who could've had a great redemption arc story but instead just goes from a junkie bitch to just a bitch.
• MacCready is also extremely selfish on top of abandoning his own sick son so he could be a glorified raider on a payroll.
• X6-88 is underdeveloped and boring.
• Preston always has another settlement needing help.
• Hancock is a boring Johnny Depp wannabe.
• Strong is a literal fucking retard.
• Dogmeat is fine until he starts getting in a doorway or narrow hallway and blocks your path for the 6000th time.
• Nick Valentine remains the best companion in terms of writing, voice acting, and character development.
• Curie is the best female companion because she doesn't have Piper's narcissistic idealism or Cait's loose cannon attitude.
• Danse was a great companion ruined by the twist that he was a synth this entire time.
• Deacon is fun and interesting but wasted on a boring unlikeable faction like the railroad, so I rarely ever travel with him.
• Codsworth is alright, I like traveling with him just so I could turn him into a crazy death machine.
• I forgot ADA existed.
• Longfellow was a surprisingly good companion.
• Gage is rather forgettable.

At this point it's pretty much confirmed that anyone not even remotely and truly interested in the """finer""" details of Fallout likes the show. More power to you I suppose, from what I read outside of the lore problems it still sounds like shit but that's just my opinion.

All followers do that but my fucking God does Dogmeat and the bigger robots really make it so much worse, not to mention running into traps. One mod fixes the former by disabling companion collision. Making the AI not run into traps is an impossibility it seems.

also the fact that your stats have an effect on dialogue choices is probably one of the best inclusions in the entire series if you're dumb

also dead money is extremely off pudding DLC generally most horror games don't bother me but that DLC is just the right amount of ambiance and disturbing enemies

it's a shame that fallout new Vegas isn't as popular as it should be now if they just created fallout new Vegas extended ultra deluxe edition with all of the cut content and all the things they wanted to put into it you could charge me 60 bucks for that but at this point I'm not buying another fallout game
