Fallout series

NCR Naval Forces.jpg

I made this thing for a hypothetical NCR Naval branch. Like, Fallout doesn't really have a obvious, out-and-out naval military power but the pre-war Corps is implicitly there.

The memory den really could have been a catalyst for some good DLC.

Kellogg being alive in Nick's head could have also been used in other interesting ways. Kellogg had an unnaturally long lifespan due to cybernetics and has seen some crazy stuff and worked with even crazier people. It would have been the perfect premise for DLC. Kellogg was 108 years old and born in NCR territory, and worked for the Shi before eventually working for the Institute. Nick could have functioned as Kellogg for the entire DLC and maybe at the end you got to make a choice. The option of putting Kellogg's consciousness in a lower tech synth who could function as a companion outside the DLC. He could be just as much of a ruthless bad ass or maybe over the course of the DLC you could make him see where he went wrong and make him realize this is a chance to do shit different. It's sappy but it's nice to give players that choice. Kind of like how in Throne of Bhaal you could convince a companion to go from Chaotic Evil to Chaotic Neutral but in this instance it'd be more like going from Neutral Evil to Chaotic Good or something
Seeing the Shi again would have been kickass, but I don't know if Bethesda would do a good job with the West Coast factions.
Also I'm pretty sure that you can convince the companion to go from Chaotic Evil to Chaotic Good. Always thought that it wasn't a very good part of Throne of Bhaal.

Well the Hubologists (yes, of all the factions to bring back... I was honestly in shock when I saw them in the game) are in NukaWorld, but I haven't played it to see how they're handled.

Still though, of all the factions to include they brought back the Hubologists - one of the most stupid factions in Fallout 2.
To be fair though they just give quests and are not a group you can back to take over the park

I want Brotherhood fags to leave.
They are way past their prime. 3 showed how their leader tried to open up to locals, New Vegas had them lose to an army consisting of people in crappy armor with crappy rifles, and 4 has the option of them and their blimp being blown out of the sky by some pre-war popsicle.

To be fair the NCR did have like hundreds to thousands of guys with crappy rifles and crappy armor and elite units they could call in when they needed to. A country versus a small faction is pretty one sided. I like the Brotherhood but they have no one else to blame for their decline but themselves.

So my brother was telling me his theory that Synth Shaun is your brainwashed son and claims that Old Shaun is just a manipulative asshole just claiming to be your son.

His reasoning was that they it's evident that the Old Shaun cares little about you and sees you more of a test subject. Uncaring and distant.

I almost want to believe but there is much supporting.

If its true then I killed my son because he was a brainwashed boy.

That is certainly true. Power-armour is all well and good on the offensive attack, but defensively you'd just be a massive stationary target - and when your outnumbered 15:1 like at the battle of Helios One you're fucked.

Still though, it was the Brotherhood of Steel who attacked the NCR. Make your bed and lay in it.

Doesn't seem likely tbh. Bethesda aren't that sublte. Besides, the reason Shaun is distant is because he doesn't know you, he's been in the Institute his whole life. Frankly the level of attachment he has to you (over the other parent whom he dismisses as "collateral damage") is bizzare, since he knew you both equally as-well.

Old Shaun is distant because he's in his early to mid sixties and only had contact with his dad for about a week before he blew up his workplace.
Also kid Shaun literally gets turned off when you meet him, kind of breaks that theory apart.

Agreed. I am certain that depth is something Bethesda can't do, though it would of been a nice theory. Again he believes Shaun turning off was just some brainwashing thing. I just think he is in denial his son is 60 years old.

Anyone else think that there could have been an interesting moment in the memory den where you explore your memories and see the moment when you first met Nate or Nora?
I don't think that could have been executed well at all. I was expecting a Nora/Nate synth to go along with the Shaun one because if Father is crazy enough to waste time perfecting his younger self I don't see why he wouldn't create some sort of fake mother/father figure for the kid. Too bad that didn't happen though.

They should've played on the New England setting a lot more, especially around the Salem area. I mean for fucks sake you can make an easy quest out of a "Salem Synth Trials" or some shit.

The UNITY will bring about the master race. Master! Master! One able to survive, or even thrive, in the wasteland. As long as there are differences, we will tear ourselves apart fighting each other.
