Does anyone else here quite enjoy Fallout 76? When it first came out, it was dog shit. But now there’s so many NPCs and quests; it’s a hell of a lot of fun. I recently got back into it.
I've played a bit last year and it seemed like a pretty good time, but I know I can't let myself get hooked on a MMO. Maybe I'll play it someday when it shuts down and Bethesda releases the server and modding tools or something.

Anyway, I'm rewatching season one and besides the race mixing propaganda I can't stand (that's one ugly fucking little nigger girl), something I really hate in the first episode is the way that said ugly little nigger girl isn't blinded by the bomb when in Honest Hearts, it's stated that looking at a nuke blinds you.

What is with you anti-woke types rage-watching something you know you hate? Absolutely pathetic, it's not like there is even any substance to this show.

I will say that I do like the setup for the raiders. Also correct me if I'm wrong, but the Elder isn't allowed to talk to Aspirants/Initiates/anyone other than Paladins, right? Like the chain that binds forbids speaking to anyone who isn't either of your rank or directly above/below it.

You're on KiwiFarms, bud. Half of the cows on the lolcow sub-forum are just "I made a thread on some stupid faggot I hate to watch". You can watch something because it's retarded and it's fun to critique and laugh at, if this wasn't the case The Room wouldn't have gotten anywhere near the cult following it has.

I got the impression from NV that The Chain that Binds only applies to giving orders.. Veronica speaks with the Elder multiple times, after all.

Why are you talking about yourself like that

You're telling me we are allowed to form our own opinions by experiencing media ourselves instead of repeating opinions from a youtube essayist?

Yeah its just about orders, elders cant sneak around ranks under them to give orders not that they cant talk to people under their rank

I think you can look at a nuke explosion so long as it's not at the exact moment it detonates since that little flash is so bright it burns a hole in your retina. It's the same reason why you avoid looking at the sun during an eclipse because the little exposure of bright sunlight after the moon moves out the way is effectively doing the same thing as staring at a nuke's flash when it detonates.

She was looking away at the exact moment it exploded.

I expect people who define themselves as "anti-woke" to not willingly watch or play this garbage every single chance they get, but I guess I am asking too much. Synthetic Man and his retarded fans are like this too, they claim to hate "AAA woke slop" but trip over themselves to play it, only because they hate it of course and want to warn you not to play it, not because they have non-existent taste and cannot get enough of mainstream games. Either way, if someone watches the TV show for fun they are definitely touched in the head, him especially considering every other comment of his I see.

It has never been stated that lower ranked recruits can't see The Elder as you can see many instances where they do just that in the games, this is just some made-up bullshit the TV show wrote in, not the first and not the last. Considering how brainless the tourists in the fandom are, they will probably think this is just something that happens in the actual games.

Oh yeah that makes sense.

Why should I have to give up my favorite series because some retards fucked up? Also let's be real here, anything outside of the first two games and New Vegas is pozzed. There's not a huge difference between playing Fallout 4 and bitching about the ghoul kid in the fridge and watching this show and bitching about the inconsistencies between LA in this and the Boneyard (speaking of which, has that concept been completely abandoned? I don't think anyone uses the term in the show).

That would be retarded even for the Brotherhood and would create such a traffic jam of information you'd never get anywhere in the field.

You're not a fan of Fallout if you not just watch the show but go out of your way to re-watch it because you're this excited for the second season of it. I don't know what you should call yourself, but a fan you are not and never will be. Hope you enjoy the second serving of slop when it comes out, you're the target audience for it.

Please explain how someone isn't a fan of fallout by not letting retards stop them from enjoying it?

Who died and made you the designated fallout fan appointee?
Do you hear yourself??

Enjoy your tophats lol

From the 1965 speculative documentary War Game
"At this distance [six miles] the heatwave [of a single megaton bomb] is sufficient to cause melting of the upturned eyeball, third degree burning of the skin, and ignition of furniture."
"At seven tenths of a millisecond after the explosion, and at a distance of sixty miles, the light of the fireball of a single megaton thermonuclear device is thirty times brighter than the midday sun."

If she wasn't already looking at it, it would've been pretty much impossible for her to turn her head in time to get an eye-full of the blinding light.

0.000007 seconds (seven tenths of a millisecond ) is how fast she would've had to snap her head from not looking to looking in order to get blinded by the nuke. It's a pretty iconic hazard but the actual possibility of getting blinded is within an incredibly small window.
1765933505468.png
The explosion is also greater than 6 miles away so there's no fear over getting melted.

She and her dad should've absolutely eaten shit though from the shockwave that reached them and knocked everything else to the side and over,
1765933615028.png 1765933670449.png
Yet left them standing.
1765933710942.png
Bizarrely, everyone else except one woman isn't actually affected by the shockwave.
1765933829623.png
The lack of reaction to having panes of shattered glass being flung at them is probably because the glass breaking exterior shot was practical but the interior shot was CGI.
1765933919029.png1765933945309.png
Goggins also might've been inserted in with CGI too given inside he's flanked by a bush in the interior shot whereas exterior it's absent.
1765934106994.png1765934312985.png
They might've also spliced together two different takes or scenes. If Goggins or someone in his costume was added in post then I imagine the original scene would've had the nuke go in the background with some camera shake to indicate the shockwave knocking that woman over. The stunned silence rather than panic from having a ton of glass hailing on them would make more sense in that case. It's possible early on they might've been more subdued with this opening but then recycled it later for the more urgent one we saw.

If there's a moment when Goggins and the girl would get blinded it's during this scene.

Assuming he and she are looking straight ahead two nukes denotate in front of them. The only debatable factor here is whether the impact zone was obscured from their angle of sight by the buildings or not. That gives enough plausibility they were protected from the flash we the viewer saw because the camera is at a different angle.

I'll take my jigsaw pieces now.

The attention to detail is appreciated but the whole sequence seems like its a "rule of cool" scene even though it makes nuclear weapons seem a lot less powerful then they actually are.

Really seems like a Bethesda thing where they are obsessed with showing us exactly how people got into the vaults when the great war happened but pre fallout 4 i think most assumed the vaults got their dwellers a while before the great war. Even 76 i think says vault 76 was staffed shortly after its opening.

Post about the retarded tv show on the tv thread
Frankly, we should merge the two threads. Star Wars discussion takes place in the Star Wars thread regardless of whether you're talking about the movies or the games. I don't see why Fallout needs two threads when the show is meant to be a sequel to the games.

Also that all being said, this wasn't a great episode, but I like that New Vegas cut content is being acknowledged and utilized.
