The Courier does have a history, though. The game, through quite a few dialogue options, shows the Courier as being at least in their mid 30s and having visited multiple NCR locations delivering packages. This was all before Lonesome Road. Chris should have done a lot more showing rather than telling in Lonesome Road but blowing up Hopeville during the DLC was impossible. Way too many things that reference Ulysses' interest in the courier are in the main game. For instance, you can talk to Johnson Nash about a courier who cancelled once he saw your name on the list.

Don't forget a male courier with Lady Killer has been all the way to Montana if you chat with the Lonesome Drifter about his missing father, and you end up speaking some of the tribal languages in HH, so you're obviously a prior visitor since canonically they're hard to learn for outsiders. The Explorer perk puts you up at New Reno where you saw Bruce Issacs perform, too. And the canyon wall to the Divide and its art has existed since Day 1, too, and wasn't added in with the DLC. it was clearly planned out that you would be visiting there to have a showdown.

FYI: I finally found out how to fix the disappearing Sanctuary glitch. You have to add 'bPreCulledObjects=0' an 'bUsePrecombinedObjects=0' to your fallout4custom.ini.

So much autism and sperging, From fart huffers making 8 hour videos about there being no farms in Megaton to whatever the fuck that Frontier shit was. I've played each mainline game and enjoyed all of them for the most part, not a big fan of 4 but whatever. Why is the Fallout fanbase like this? The Elder Scrolls fanbase seem so chill in comparison.

A quick search doesn't show anything so I was wondering if anyone heard of Fallout: Sonora. Its a mod for Fallout 2 set in southern Arizona and northern Mexico a few years after the events of Fallout 1 (so no Legion or NCR). Apparently it was done mostly by one guy.

Those guys already made Fallout of Nevada which was translated a while ago and it's really nice (ending twist is a bit lame but otherwise it's pretty solid).
There was some machine-translated version of Sonora posted on NMA but unfortunately it got deleted before I managed to grab it and I'm too lazy to make one myself.

I think it all started when Bethesda acquired Fallout from Interplay. Sites like NMA witnessed their series decline under Interplay's watch, and then saw it change into a different kind of RPG (although I don't think the change was as drastic as something like Paper Mario or Saints Row is currently going through), so that left them bitter.

Obsidian in general has an obnoxious fanbase surrounding them, so it was only a matter of time before New Vegas got put on a pedastal. That in itself can be tolerated if they also didn't go out of their way to blame Bethesda for every single flaw the game has, going as far as to perpetuate a myth that they sabotaged a project that they paid for (on a series that only just made a comeback, mind you). Whatever "feud" may exist between Bethesda & Obsidian is nowhere near as bad as these guys say, but they'll continue to shield Obsidian from any sort of criticism.

Bethesda fans are probably the most "chill" subset, if only because they don't antagonize the others as often.

That bonus was only one million dollars, it wouldn't have helped them after many of their projects got canned.

Gamebryo's an unstable engine, but they've had problems with every other engine they've worked with, even Unreal Engine 3 powered the broken mess that was Alpha Protocol. With a track record like that, and the fact that they could've spent more of their dev time on polishing instead of making more content (something one of the lead devs admitted to in an interview, they've been willing to talk about their failings in developing their games), I'm willing to blame Obsidian for how busted the game turned out (especially when they spent some of their time patching the game on useless shit like nerfing the sniper rifle or ridding medical boxes of stimpaks instead of fixing quest bugs and freezes).

This wasn't poor little Obsidian getting "bullied" by another publisher (you know that saying about everyone being an asshole to you?), this was Obsidian once again having bigger eyes than their stomach. They didn't have to make a bigger game than Fallout 3, they could've made a more focused game to make better use of the time they agreed to.

Before you blame Bethesda for QA, that only reports the bugs, Obsidian is the one that has to fix those bugs.
