Fallout series

So I've just done the main questline for Automaton. I really enjoyed it. I thought the dungeon was really nicely designed with an entire, utterly creep-tastic facility and that slightly off storyline that it deserved.

That being said, you can make the game unintentionally hilarious by giving Ada Sentry-bot tracks so she can fit precisely nowhere on the inside on buildings, causing the AI to spazz out completely.

Bethesda basically said this is one of the smallest DLCs they're handing out first (wasteland workshop is mostly Cosmestic crap and bloodsports) and it's not bad but... well, it's just not as good as the stuff included in the NV DLCs. I do like the customization but it seems to be pursuing that to the detriment of more quests and highly repeatable ones (Basically you now have settlements to deal with and groups of bots on a repeated basis).

Had I not already got the season pass? I'd give this one a miss and wait for Far Harbour coming out May-time, which seems to heavily hint to being Nantucket or Martha's Vineyard. That I'd actually be looking forward to exploring, especially if they push down the Stephen King route of "Everything bad and creepy happens in Maine."

Roughly how long did the main quest for the dlc take you

The DLC worked for what it is: an overall way to create new companions and settlers for your game. The weapons it introduces are really good, and I understand why it didn't have as much lore as NV (Bethesda Vs Obsidian). I say it gets 8/10 for its price.

It's really more comparable to Hearthfire for Skyrim than anything else I can think of. There's a quest chain attached but mostly it's just about adding fiddly bits for you to play with.

How much DLC is Fallout 4 going to have? This is also included with the Season Pass right?

They've confirmed 3 pieces. Automaton (companions and guns), Wasteland Workshop (cosmetic items and capturing wild animals and enemies for bloodsport) and Far Harbour. The latter is supposed to be the "biggest expansion for a fallout game ever" and is likely to be Martha's Vineyard or Nantucket after we've hurled it through the Fallout Machine.

Interestingly, they've said this is the "first wave" and are promising way over $60 of content. Which in this day and age just means "anything more than Street Fighter gave you."

Didnt they say the 3rd dlc is the single biggest landmass they had created for dlc in any Bethesda game.

Pretty much. But it's also "an island off of the coast of Maine" so there's really only two candidates that anyone knows the names of.

Steam acknowledges that I have purchased the DLC for it but refuses to install it. There was an update that downloaded 0 KB/0 KB and said it was complete... is anyone else having this problem and know a solution?

EDIT: GOD DAMN IT IT'S REGION LOCKED

You could try changing the download location and restarting Steam. Or shut off Steam and delete ClientRegistry.blob in the root steam folder, then start it again.

EDIT: Or getting a VPN. Or piracy :^)

Finally gotten Fallout 4 after Steam was selling it for $40. All I can say is that character creation is new to me since they did remove sliders (as shown in E3). I feel like Dogmeat's AI could be fucked because I feel like he doesn't really follow me and I just want him to leave me (do want the Lone Wanderer perk to kick in). I did feel rather OP after killing a raider wearing power armor and wielding a machete. Killing him and taking his weapon made killing raiders in the nearby Corvega factory fun and easy.

Lone Wanderer still kicks in with Dogmeat in your party I'm pretty sure.

It does, though I still stopped using him. He makes it too difficult to play stealthy - I wish you could give companions more commands like to not attack until told to or something.

It's Bar Harbor. It's a popular vacation site with a significant scientific institution on the island.

Completely forgot about Mt Desert Island... would make sense. That place already looks like it's held in the 1850s let alone 1950s...

I don't want to spoil anything for you, but if you follow dogmeat while he's wondering you around, he leads you to his personal side quest.

You went to San Francisco in Fallout 2. You should play Fallout 2, it's a great game.

I was shit about paying attention to the story when I was a kid (then again I barely played a few minutes of FO2 before the computer died), whoops.

I actually just downloaded Fallout 1, now that I'm no longer motion sick to these isometric cameras.
