Fallout series

I've always seen Dead Money as more of a slog than a hard DLC, don't think i've ever had any issues regarding difficulty with it.
The first time for Dead Money is always the hardest (especially on hardcore/survival mode). Because there is no warning that you are stripped of all of your gear. And on top of that you get new enemies. And an unfamiliar surrounding. And no companions for the start. You are alone with nothing and with a character geared towards speech and nonviolence you have an uphill battle.

Each subsequent time after that is usually easier. Especially if you specifically prepare for the DLC. Such as getting perks like Monocyte Breeder, Survival based skills, and so on. Plus knowing the quests and environment makes things a ton easier as you are not ambushed by the alarms or your collar exploding.

One thing I've found to be a major help is doing Old World Blues before Dead Money. It's sequence breaking, but fuckit, it's an open world game to begin with, and going by recommended levels OWB should come first anyway. Those cybernetic upgrades you get (both varieties) help in all sorts of ways.

Lol I usually bum rush Dead Money at the beginning of the game for the gold bars and stimpaks (get stimpak vending machine code thing, break the bank with blackjack at the casino, cash all of it in on stimpaks). It's honestly easy once you've done it enough times and memorize where the radios are, still slightly annoying but save scumming helps. Although I do get lost in one of the areas, the Dean Domino one where you meet him or take him to his position idr, and have to noclip back to the exit because the whole area looks the same.

I've been playing NV randomized and holy fuck its a trip.
You get endgame weapons at the start, bizarre armor (did you know Vera Keye's skeleton was an outfit and not an actual model?) and the enemies are all over the place.
Quarry Junction for me was filled with Rad roaches and cyberdogs. Meanwhile the school in Goodsprings had the following horrors: Deathclaw Alpha Male, Giant Cazador, a feral ghoul, and one Zion Mantis.
I was murdered very quickly. Also stuff like food and ammo are plentiful, BUT there have been two issues with the game.
1- The giant Roboscorpion in Big MT at the end of OWB just...didn't spawn.
2- for me at least, the Vault 13 Canteen does not work.
Overall I love it being random. Its a fun mod, unlike the hellhole bullshit Dust was. Naugrim gets his cock sucked for basically going "I know what NV players want! Getting swarmed by goddamn 20 tunnelers and having no healing items!!" I fucking hated Dust do to how meanspirited the mod was.
And lastly a more confusing hell is the Randomized Doors mod which randomizes the entrances. Fun fact, if you accidentally enter a casino, your guns are taken AND YOU DO NOT GET THEM BACK. Good shit.

As long as he killed House and Kimball he is forgiven.

Especially if he killed all three.
Killed House, killed Kimball, killed Caesar, killed Benny, and for good measure...

Nuked everyone.

Man, Explosive Combat Shotgun with Rifleman Rank 5 and Dem. Exp with all the buffs from magazines and bobbleheads makes FO4 a literal walk in the park.

Reminder that the entire Enclave was canonically bested by a bone in nose tribal retard and a super mutant.
Even better I wouldn't be shocked to find out the aforementioned tribal chosen one talked the president of the united states into giving the fuck up and making a squad of soldiers mutiny too. Though the Chosen One at least inherited the protagonist gene from the Vault Dweller.

Minutemen never act competent while the player is active. Everything rests on the Sole Survivor including keeping them from being finally wiped out. Without you cupping their balls they do absolutely nothing. The other factions have actually taken some actions and you can see the effects of it on the world map. Even the Railroad does more which is sad as hell.

I've been feeling like shit for the last few days so I decided to do a project indoors - Getting Fallout New Vegas running on a M1 Mac and you know what it wasn't hard at all, Parallels with a Win11 install (it's only being used for gaming) and within 10 minutes I was in the Mojave, so because that was easy I tried Fallout 4 and 76 (got 76 for 15p in the bargain bin of a game shop) and I can get Fallout 4 running flawlessly at near native speed and quality but 76 just refuses to launch and crashes no matter what I try.

So far I've got about 5 hours in NV and about the same in 4 - with no issues what so ever, I'm going to take another crack at 76 at some point but I'm going to try getting Fallout 1/2 (the best Fallout Games IMO) running but I'll have to dig out my installation CD's from the Big Box's I've got stored some where.

"Creating fear and instability among the troopers without causing harm. [Falsifying reports] was the only thing I could think of to shake things up. It took some people getting killed to realize I'd gone too far; I had to stop." - Chief Hanlon

This line always bugged me. Who is he referring to here?

Presumably some of the false reports he sent to the Ranger stations got some of their staff killed, though I don't remember if there's anything in the game that explicitly says that.
