Now, because of anime and anime-inspired characters like 2B from Nier Automata, they have to be indistinguishable from humans so they can be fucked. It legitimately is that simple.
This seems like a very weird bridge to draw since Fallout 3 predates Nier by a country mile. It's a fucking Bladerunner reference my guy.
it's obvious bethesda just doesn't care
it's not that they despise obsidian or the originals
they just don't care
Well, it is absolutely true Bethesda does not and has not ever cared about keeping their settings consistent and lore accurate, but there is an underlying element of seethe you cannot escape regarding how they treat their fanbase and the way they talk about New Vegas/Obsidian feels like there is hurt feelings there.
Specifically when Todd says they will never ever ever let another team take one of their IPs to do a stopgap game, I don't see any way to read that as petty and vindictive.
Frankly, I think it's working
Well Fallout fans, even 3 and New Vegas ones, are fucking old. This is Fallout for zoomies now. It's basically just Borderlands with Vault Suits.
But a lot of people need to stop being so fucking gay about it.
There is this pervasive narrative that you just shouldn't give a fuck about things and you need to stop complaining when stuff you like gets raped because it's gay and annoying and I find THAT gay and annoying.
Faggots who complain about faggots complaining need to quit sticking their dicks into the conversation, that has nothing to do with them, to try and flaunt how above it all they are. Yeah, I get it, you're enlightened and too smart to care about shit. Very cool.
but the player progression is what I'm not a huge fan of.
What drives me nuts with the elimination of skills is that you now have to invest like 20 to 30 perks into workhorse perks like damage boosts for your firearms to even stay viable through early and mid game. By the time you get to actually define a build or play style and dip into more interesting perks you have cleared over half the map.
I'm not sure if the jet thing even quantifies as lore when it was more of a continuity error
This is the thing with Bethesda. They can never just admit that they goofed something up. It makes sense, they're massive games with tons of history and lore, nobody would care if someone just said "Oh, yeah, that's just a mistake. Oops."
Instead they double down, bitch about people who DARE to point out inconsistent writing, then weaponize their equally retarded fanbase to beat down anyone asking for them to put a modicum of effort in.
