Fallout series

it took me years to realize that the quest when you return to your vault in fallout three, was just a big reference to fallout one. even going as far as having Amanda say "your a hero, and you have to leave". well, as is fallout tradition, as soon as she turned around and walked away, i blasted her head off with my shotgun and left the vault leaderless.

peace out suckers!

Oh God I didn't think it was real
:story:

"You smell good."
"You wanna have sex?"
It's like a sterotypical 4chan incel wrote this. "I HELD THE DOOR FOR A WOMAN AND SHE DIDN'T FUCK ME ON THE SPOT, FUCK WOMEN I'M GOING TO WRITE A CHARACTER WHO GETS OFFERED SEX FOR COMPLIMENTING A WOMAN BUT TURNS IT DOWN LIKE A CHAD" The horseshoe theory but with 4chan incels and Hollywood writers.
There's a reason why we call fans of the show retarded lol.
Pretty sure he has been threadbanned.
Yeah, he got a pink triangle because he got so mad that I shared that screencap of a gaming article. Imagine getting yourself banned by defending a fucking videogame journo. :story:

Which is fucking bizarre because looting in Bethesda games is really not all that fun or satisfying. 80 percent of what you find is junk, there are virtually no unique weapons in terms of visual aesthetics or effects to find in Fallout 4. As a loot game it fucking sucks ass because there are no unique enemies to fight or things to pick up.

And I feel comparing Fallout 4 to Borderlands is, may Allah forgive me for uttering this phrase, an insult to Borderlands. That franchise does have a plot with distinct characters, you can't really influence it, but talking to the cast in Borderlands is a highlight of those games and the plot is at least coherent, even if ultimately shit. You can't say the same about Fallout 4.

Honestly while I still blame the entire Borderlands series for somewhat influencing the 'Millenial Writing' trend into becoming the cancer it is today in gaming, (gonna shill for ShreddedNerd this time) if you isolate Borderlands 1 & 2 to the 'era' they came out in, honestly they're not that bad on their own. I'd play Borderlands 2 over and over again because gameplay-wise it has a lot more to offer than Fallout 4 with all the different characters and playstyles.

Which is somewhat humiliating to a self-proclaimed RPG game, to be honest. A co-op looter shooter (with no different endings, no factions, etc.) with premade characters has more replayability than a """RPG game""" with a custom protagonist.

with almost no memorable/recognizable personalities
Agree to disagree. I do think the cast in Borderlands is memorable, even if I don't personally like the majority of them.

Yeah, I'm mostly talking about 1/2 here as those are the only games I have personal experience with. For a game that very clearly wants to be Borderlands they didn't learn shit all about how to make a good loot game. The Bethesda progression means looting loses pretty much any value by the time you accrue 10K caps or take enough boring perks to make the 10mm you picked up in the very first area of the game do 100+ damage with each shot.

that one anon is going to have his post shared forever and no one will know his name

As expected, the same thing that's happened to comic books is now happening to videogames. I hope everyone here that enjoyed the show will enjoy Fallout 5 as a movie game, designed to appeal strictly to all the normies who watched the show.

Enjoy your TV slop. Soon it will be your only way of interacting with these franchises.
And this is my biggest issue with it all. It won’t just stay contained as a show that’s Fallout in name only, I could live with that.

But a bunch of people who lose nothing, because they’re not fans, are going to get the games to match the show.

But hey, we didn’t gatekeep, cuz that’s heccin mean and chud-like, and that’s all that matters.

Had it been taking place somewhere like Texas or Tennessee I could tolerate the existence of the show, but as it is, it only exists to blow up everything pre Bethesda Fallout and soft reboot the franchise.
It's the force awakens of Fallout. All the way down to the beta male black guy and heroine pairing

:optimistic: Ending: Microsoft decides to cut their losses and lets all their studios go. They have been throwing money at Xbox without getting anything in return for almost a decade now.
:( Ending: The Fallout show is just the beginning. Microsoft manages to find success in making multimedia products out of their popular franchises. The normies watching the shows manage to sustain Xbox for the foreseeable future.
Making these shitty TV shows is so easy that not even Xbox could fuck it up. This means that we might just get the sad ending after all. :stress:

Soy. Soy never changes.

Yeah, and I know FO4 and 76 also had a hand in this direction, it’s not totally on the show. However, the influx of “fans” who will just want more of the show + the attitude that you just have to accept new things as good, will probably be the nail in the coffin.

This is just my personal conspiracy theory but I think this was a Borderlands show before either Amazon lost the IP or Gearbox decided they wanted a movie instead.

None of it feels like Fallout but what it does feel very reminiscent of is Borderlands specifically Borderlands 3

Flat featureless desert setting
Shock humor
Peepee poopoo baby semen lizard cumrocket lolsorandum humor
Bright cartoony color pallet

If you put a cell shade filter over this show it would be absolutely indistinguishable from Borderlands.

As a bemused observer (NV was my first Fallout game, but I enjoyed 3 and 4, accepting they are just as flawed as NV in many ways) seeing the amount of praise for the show from Youtubers and other shills who normally foam at the mouth when a video game is adapted to another medium despite how bad it is has really shocked me. Maybe it's a good show, or its well made, great, but its not a good Fallout show, which is the whole point.
