They get a thrill out of bastardizing things not made by them. The fun of ruining Tolkien or Lovecraft and inserting niggers or faggots or other filth. Then they'll post outrage bait with things like "Fallout is queer friendly and you need to accept it" or "There were black elves in Middle Earth and bigots are losing their fragile little minds". "Snowflakes are triggered that Game of Thrones is inclusive". "Fallout has always been primarily a trans series".

They know that people will get angry over this which is the entire point. They just love the attention and getting underneath peoples' skins.

In terms of tragic and badass, I prefer Raul in that aspect, not to diminish Boone though since his story really struck with me and I always do his quest in every save I do with him. But Raul is really awesome, probably the best companion to have if you want to have a run with the NCR as your enemy.

His ending is pretty great too if you help him amend his horrible nightmares about Bitter Springs.

I would love giving Raul the Armor of the 87th since it fits his backstory... except he constantly complains about his joints while wearing it since its heavy armor.

But yeah, if I had to pick one companion to travel with it would be Boone. Great backstory, great perk, especially with ED-E for long-range spotting.

You just know that the black guy surviving Color Out of Space was them giving a middle finger to Lovecraft. I don't know if anyone that worked on the movie outright said it, but I can't imagine that's not the case.

Huh. I usually consider myself pretty good at noticing things like that, and now that I think about it there is a solid chance you're right.

The actor is also gay.
 
Is there an author that gets blasted and shamed as much as Lovecraft while also having his work used or mimicked by the very people that despise his guts? I really can't think of any.

JRR token the haters guts and they're convinced that all of his work was closed homoerotica even though he was a fundamentalist Catholic he's also the father of anarcho monarchism but that he wrote out his ideology in a brief letter and that's all he wrote on it and that's all that needs to be written about it

I've been playing though Fallout 2 again. It's really nice to play a rpg where you don't feel forced into combat at every turn and you can figure out other ways to solve quests rather then just killing everything. So many rpgs feel like they're made with combat first and everything else based around it. I made a character whose basically average at everything except for luck which I maxed out. His tagged skills are science, lockpicking and repair he has almost no combat ability yet I've had no real issue progressing through the game. The few times I got in combat I've just relied on Cassidy and my dog to deal with it as hide in the corner missing every shot I take.
