I recently finally got around to playing the Point Lookout remake mod for Fallout 4, and I'd say it seems pretty faithful (besides the voice acting). The mod even keeps the style of all the various container styles from Fallout 3 and brings back various Fallout 3 weapons (except for the Chinese Assault Rifle, that one was noticeably absent but Nuka-world's AKs are a suitable replacement found through out point lookout).
The Capital Wasteland team are a shining light in a sea of Trannies who can't finish shit, They have Point Lookout out and The Pitt is coming "Soon". The whole voice acting thing sucks but it is what it is, Bethesda nearly killed the project when they told the modders they couldn't use the voice lines from Fallout 3.

New Vegas and the Fallout TV show really gets sperg’s brains a-joggin.
Only New Vegas is better than 3 and especially 4 and 76, while the Amazon show is nothing more than a turd that should've been avoided like the plague, but nope, it's people in the Farms who will hatewatch something bad and end up being successful, letting corpos having the last laugh

I played through Fallout 1 recently under the Fixt patch (I already had the first game for free during the anniversary sale a while back). It was fun in the sense of immersion. In the modern need for an FPS shooter and 3D graphics, modern players would quickly get frustrated or bored. The game, its story, setting, and themes were made in a different period of gaming. Its writing still amazes me despite its engine and time limitations. With it being a great game, it's balanced with noticeable flaws. I'd say its weakest area has to be the Boneyard. the twist of the gang being Good Guys was meh. Some quests were not implemented on time, which caused some issues that the patch later fixed. Also, building space was questionable, but considering the game had to be run on Dos, too, technical limitations can be a bitch. Arcanum also suffers that issue with its Fallout cousin.
If Bethesda didn't have the IP rights to it, I'd wish for a modern Fallout 1 remake but still in the game's art design style. It felt more like Metropolis gone wrong than a 1950s Americana Renaissance before the Great War. With the right team, players would get immersed in Necropolis' puzzling streets, the scraped skyscrapers of the Boneyard, the smog of Junktown, and the nocturnal lights emitted from the Glow. So much potential with this series, yet the series suffers the same issue as Sonic the Hedgehog: Its fans are fucking insufferable.

That area is barely finished. Originally, it was going to have a massive gang war that was the main questline for the city, but that got scrapped so we have the Regulator conflict and only one gang remains. There is a whole lot of cut content for the game, but Boneyard is about where they started to run out of time. Even the ending for the Followers is bugged to always have them wiped out in the main game since the Cathedral spy was never implemented(Fixt brought her back and you have to kill her if you want to get the good ending for them, obviously Boneyard cannot be invaded either which is nearly impossible without a speedrun if you have invasions on)
I DEFINITELY hope we don't get a remake of the oldschool Fallout titles, especially after the disaster that Starfield and the Fallout 4 Next Gen patch are. Thankfully, we have modders remaking both Fallout 1 and 2 right now, so we will get SOMETHING in the future.

I’m holding out hope for Project Arroyo and Fallout:Vault 13. I just hope Bethesda doesn’t decide to remake 1 and 2, send cease and desists to the devs, then make crappy, inferior remakes bloated with the lore they established in the TV show.

Same with the Hub and Junktown. In the unfixt game, you wouldn't be able to get a good ending for the hub (would always get destroyed by the mutant army) and an alternative ending for Junktown, where Killian etablishes a much stricter rule over the town, because originally, siding with Gizmo would have transformed the place into some sort of little New Reno resort town, while under Killian it would've stayed the same.

Skipped Boneyard for the most part in my playthrough, only killed the Deathclaws for the Gun Runners.

I have been addicted to playing fallout 2 with the newest RPU patch and the EcCo mod and I cant say that im even tired yet, I have multiple different playthroughs of different playstyles and its truly making me realize how simple and content the older games were, jfyi RPU and EcCo are still being updated, the latest release will come with an extended inventory so if you have a bigger monitor you will benifit from having more space in trading menus and your inventory. The github page for the RPU has documentation on which mods are which iirc.

Finished fallout one. This is actually the first time i killed the Master in combat. sad i lost Ian along the way but his sacrifice will never be forgotten. Punched the master so hard, He exploded into a million pieces!

The ending is still sad. For you and the Master.

The ending is one of the most heartbreaking and bittersweet I've ever felt in a videogame.

But the fact that it still feels satisfactory and you feel complete after completing it makes it the more wonderful, not many games do that with their sad endings.

BTW I never saw this concept art of the Legion using car chariots.

It's so stupid I absolutely love it!
Something like this existed in real life and I’d just like to inform everyone:

I feel like the story of Fallout 4 could have been the best in the series if done right. The horror of waking up in a literal nuclear nightmare version of the world you once knew as you search for your infant son could make for a really good game
Yeah I think you could take a lot of F4’s story and polish it out and it would be decent, if not good. I have to say for how often Bethesda is criticized for inserting memberberries where they don’t belong (Super Mutants, BoS, etc.) it’s weird that they didn’t have the Enclave in F4 considering it could’ve added depth to their decision to have a protagonist with an established backstory of being a war veteran or the wife of one. They easily could have set up an interesting conflict with the protagonist and the Enclave, with the protagonist feeling conflicted loyalties to the people who are ostensibly the remnants of the government the protagonist was so attached to. Maybe it could even answer just how much of the Enclave’s claims of legitimacy to the pre-war U.S. government is true and how much is propaganda.

Don't worry I got pretty much all my compaions killed but I was also playing vinalia fallout. Dogmeat got killed by a bandit when storming a house. Tyico got killed by a death claw. Ian got mauled by the mother deathclaw. And that female got murder by a supermutant.

Started up Dead Money in NV for the first time in 9 years. It's easier than I remember it being but I'm less ADHD than I was way back in the day. Navigating the Sierra Madre villas is tedious though.
