Same, especially since it would further show why The Frontier was retarded with how they took the Enclave space station idea and jumped the shark with it.

Enclave space station on it's own wasn't a bad idea. What ruined it was:
1) Cutting out the Enclave path after the devs got triggered by DRUMPF!(remember, this took 7 years to make)
2) Shoehorning the finale of the said cut path into the middle of the NCR questline, for some reason. It sticks out like a sore thumb, is an antithesis of what a Fallout experience is like, and there is still MORE after this. What would be a bombastic end to a completely different questline is literally just a filler episode that barely gets talked about again for another campaign. Should have just cut it out entirely.
3) The retard that made all the horror segments that I haven't seen even one player defend went all crazy on this map and turned it into Dead Space. If this whole entire segment and the infected zombies were cut, maybe the level could have been salvaged.
We don't know what they were planning once upon a time, but the way they shoved in what little they had created into the NCR campaign just leaves a bad taste in people's mouths. Space Enclave is an amazing concept if done right, problem is Frontier dev team were not it. Do note that the space station was a short final dungeon in Van Buren, a point of no return where you tackled the base in any way you wanted(Combat Boy/Stealth Boy/Science Boy/Diplomacy Boy) and then dealt with the big bad and made the big decision with the nukes at the end. That's it, the space station was a short level that was ended the game with a bang and not worn out it's welcome like the Frontier space station. More importantly, even getting to the space station was a workload since you had to make the rocket work and vacate the raiders that occupied the space station somehow, so getting to space felt like a reward. NCR just has vertibirds that can fly to space somehow(?) and just happens to have fully functional space suits sitting around(??) and a whole task force of trained cosmonauts(???) just sitting around with nothing to do. A better written mod would have an entire questline centered around this one mission, where the endgoal was raiding the space station as a grand finale. This just feels out of place in a mod centered around a battle between larping Diamond Dogs and larping romans, but I have a feeling it worked in an earlier draft where Enclave was a playable faction. I doubt the fuckable deathclaw and the sex lizards were there at the start either, so clearly some sort of rot set in for the project and it all went downhill.

Oh no I agree with you but I also just think that it had so much shit that makes me just REALLY doubt the Van Buren version would of been to the scale it was shown in the Frontier tech wise. Especially with fucking Frank Horrigan clones running around and shit. I never dug around the design docs for it but did they ever state what the final boss would of been like?

First of all, the Van Buren space station wasn't commanded by the Enclave, the big bad would have been Victor Presper and his hand chosen men(former NCR).
Second, the station was very tiny. It was meant as a final challenge for your build of choice, so it would have a few corridors worth of fighting and a few optional activities, such as re-activating a robobrain companion and convincing it to be your temporary ally. The meat and potatoes came with the final confrontation with Presper himself and deciding where the nukes will go at the very end, which was an idea recycled for Lonesome Road DLC.
The entire finale was not meant to be longer than 1-2 hours if not shorter for an experienced/leveled up player. Think of the finale with Fallout 3's Project Purity/Broken Steel or New Vegas Hoover Dam Battle, it was something similar to that. There was never any Enclave there and certainly no Frank Horrigan clones running around, this was all fanfiction written up by the Frontier team.
BTW let's not forget an actual nazi scientists, german accent and all, or how he turns one of your men into Sans from Undertale.

Ah okay I must of gotten my wires crossed due to the Frontier since I only had vague knowledge of it before then. Honestly it sounds like this would of actually been a nice finale for the game overall and possibly for the franchise.

i had the faintest memory that bothered me trying to remember if something like megaton existed in classic fallout and i forgot that they had a place like that in fallout tactics, except it was all ghouls iirc. so it made more sense why beings healed by radiation and mentally fucked from being zombified and outcasted would be more chill with it. they also did the computer antagonist twist better
there are still several people trying to create versions of van buren. i think theres one guy just trying to outright make the game himself. looks nice so far
i think they actually had the faintest plans already for their own version of fallout 4 which would have delved more into legion stuff.

Is there any benefit in keeping Dean alive? Guy was a prick even before being a ghoul.
He always came off to me as the asshole in the group in a horror movie that eventually becomes dangerous to keep his secrets a secret or/and to save his own skin. They usually get killed off.
Therefore it just felt narratively "natural" Dean kicks the bucket because he just couldnt help himself as to not be in control.
In theory at least and you are the guy that was shot in the brain twice.
In practice, The Courier can probably be even crazier than Elijah somehow.
I remember way back when that Mattpat did a theory video explaining if its possible to theorically survive two gunshots to the head. He calculated the angle Benny shot us and concluded that, for us to have any chance of surviving, the first bullet would have struck the toughest part of the skull, the upper section and then departed (going with the possibility Benny has shitty aim and hit you on an angle that barely struck the cranium).
So yes, technically The Courier COULD have survived...that is until he reminded us Benny shot twice, which, uhhh...yeah
The Courier should be 100% dead.
I guess it goes to show how much suspension of disbelief we are willing to allow for the sake of a good immersive story.
Yeah but thats all optional. People keep thinking that just because the option is there, that it is canon to the character's backstory, its not.
Courier Six is suppose to be the Fallout equivalent of "The Man with No Name", a blank slate to project us to if we feel like it.
Tho he is unique in the sense that he just seems to "become" awesome after getting shot in the head.
With other protagonists, you can argue that they always had it within them but never had a chance to truly demonstrate it and test themselves.
Vault Dweller, Chosen One and The Lone Wanderer always lived sheltered protected lives until they were forced out into the larger world.
The Sole Survivor had pre-war experience so that helped
The Courier supposedly travelled all over and we can assume he had his fair bit of action (even tho he starts as a little weakling like the others) so what gives? The out of verse explanation is because he is now player controlled and thus unstoppable by the very nature of it because you can start as the biggest loser in the universe, if a player controls your actions, you will be a god by the end.
I only truly believe said accusations when I get proper, and I mean, PROPER proof that came from actual investigation.
People dont know how easy it is to fake evidence these days and its only gonna get worse with things like AI. Im not saying that there arent legit accusations but I think that if they are true, then they will handle the evidence to the authorities rather than post it online and try to defame the person...kind of shows what your intentions always were.
I can attest to that. 90% of its members are the "bios in the profile" kind who really arent afraid to show you that they havent touched grass in years and have a disturbingly dettached view of reality. A big number of them are also LGBTQ and one of them even seems to ship her...him...it self? Idk, with Goris from Fallout 2 (the smart deathclaw). Something tells me they might not exactly have the most mentally healthy lifestyle, just my guess...
I could probably document some of their cringe but the problem is that, unlike Twitter, its difficult to keep track of these discord serves since everything is just moving so fast and nobody shuts the F up. Closest thing I did from that was screen shooting some of the Amazon series apologists a couple of pages back (they are as delusional as you'd expect and its a confirmation Fallout is a normie franchise now).

"He came off as an asshole" is a real understatement when it comes to Dean Domino. I mean, he quite literally is that character. He's only ever out there for himself and he was embezzling money from the Sierra Madre and Sinclair's accounts before the casino was ever even built, while using and blackmailing Vera into helping him steal all of Sinclair's money.

As cool as it would be I kinda doubt it due to the state Interplay was in at the time.
Oh yeah no I am aware, I am pretty sure in a previous conversation in this very thread one of us even pointed out how all of Courier Six's "canon" backstory is completely optional and in some cases can even be outright denied in game if it clashes with your RP for the character such as making Avellone's mouth piece actually having mistaken you for a different person.
As for the Courier starting weaker than the others my preferred explanation is it's a result of the damage the gunshots dealt to their nervous system and shit along with some muscle atrophy and over the course of the game they gradually work through it regaining their old strength and becoming stronger than ever before. I don't know much about medical shit but I know there isn't enough time between the shot and when they wake up for this stuff to really happen but at the same time it feels fairly natural to my retarded ass.

Finished my Fallout 1 Et Tu playthrough, took my sweet time to properly experience it. Holy shit, does it enriches the base game.
My problem with the first Fallout was always that it was somewhat lacking in content and was pretty straightforward, compared to the second game, at least, that is how i remembered it.
This mode really brings a lot of enjoyment out of playing the first game, lotsa QoL improvements: couple new weapons to obtain at the beginning, companion options from the second game, a fucking BIKE to zoom around the map, additional perks from the second game. It is also surprisingly stable, had only 6 hard crashes, throught the whole game, everything worked smoothly, lot of game customization options - new weapons - new enemies On/Off, Charisma based companion system On/Off and so on.
Holy shit, i can't remember last time when a game made me stay up late for 3 days in a row, feels good man.
Despite earlier plans to create a melee build, i went with the high luck sniper build for small guns/energy weapons, with Finesse and i gotta say - it was slightly dissapointed.
While at the beginning aimed shots missed a lot, with my weapon skills at 50-78%, Luck 9, PE 8, late game, even with Luck 10, Better Criticals and Finesse, i was still missing every 3rd eye shot and only 40% of eyeshots i made actually blinded the enemy, usually it was just high dmg (or not) roll with some "that gotta hurt" description. Honestly, i expected more, although i gotta admit, it was fun one-shotting supermutants, via critical hits with Alien Blaster. Tried to min-max as best as i could, but i guess RNG just doesn't likes me. Also, Tycho with Red Ryder BB LE gun FUCKS, i was worried at first, since for the couple first turns he was doing literally 0 dmg but then, suddenly, something clicked and he started killing Floaters and Centaurs in 2-4 shot, no idea how. Ian was also surprsingly usefull early to mid game, especially when equiped with a Deagle/14 mm Pistol, but he later started standing still in the middle of the fights, using stimms and running away when hurt.
End stats (still on Mentats)
Damn, do i want more, I think i'll play Fallout 2 next, same/similiar build, maybe without finesse.

Try Fallout Nevada. It is actually a prequel to Fallout 1, but it's a fantastic title never the less. The same author made Sonora as well, altho I am not sure what the status of the translation is. Not really Fallout but it's still in the Fallout 2 engine, Olympus 2077 is a neat little title if you're looking for oldschool Fallout. You can't go wrong with Fallout Tactics, if you never played that before, altho that's strictly if you actually enjoy the combat in these isometric games. If you're in a shitposting mood, there is Oblivion Lost: a Stalker x Fallout 2 crossover, which is about as stable and well written as you think. Lastly, you could try ATOM Rpgs, which are spiritual reimagining of OG Fallout titles if they took place in soviet russia instead. Oh, and similarly to Et Tu being a successor to Fixt, there is a new version of Restoration Project that adds new companions as well as many more QoL changes. I haven't tried that one myself, so I can't tell you more.
I think I will start a new playthru myself. I was hoping to play London, but I guess that got cancelled or something. I'm thinking of an Isekai like protagonist that got transported into the world of Fallout: He's not actually a hero but he found himself in this position regardless, his only experience comes from playing RPG games so he's going to metagame a lot. I haven't played a two handed bruiser/barbarian in ages, but I think I will also give myself high Speech/Charisma just because I like the idea of this dude building his own harem/party as well.

This pissed me off to an unreasonable degree. I quite liked the wolfenstein reboot games (before they dropped the ball with that shitty one about B.J.’s daughters or whatever) and seeing this shit was just fucking soul crushing. The trailers for the mod made it seem somewhat competent, I even showed my Grandpa who’s been playing NV non-stop since release on Xbox, even offered to give a cheap laptop and to help install it when it came out so he could get some new content out of his all time favorite game. Literally never mentioned it to him again years later when it officially released and was embarrassing, unadulterated dogshit.

For fallout 2, always make sure that your special stats are uneven especially if you are using rpu, with updated maps as well.EcCo mod is really easy to install, its just 1 exe, just makes more tag skills viable, im currently working through an energy weapons build but you honestly only can do a small arms build, unarmed, big guns, and energy weapons build in vanilla, EcCo mod makes sneak killing a viable way to go because in vanilla is restricted to have sneak criticals on unarmed with 1 perk, it makes everything harder in general, it adds an entirely new mechanic of planting and arming traps and explosives, although i have not tried this type of character yet im seriously intrigued, it makes it so if you are going to be bartering you have to spec pretty hard into it because it punishes you otherwise, the crafting system is also very indepth despite having very small features.
heres 2 characters that are completely viable in both vanilla fallout 2 and with the ecco mod, the sex appeal trait can be swapped out for fast shot for vanilla fallout 2.
also as a reminder the EcCo mod removes bonus fire rate for a perk later down the line as the author states that its too op considering the turbo plasma rifle already being at 3 ap with fast shot and doing 90 damage.
