Fallout series

I wonder whats so fucky about this situation when Fallout 3 had a shitty update and all it took was a downgrade mod to make all mods run just fine afterwards. Why cant the same be done to Fallout 4?
It can. The devs are either unfathomably retarded or they're lying and its not as finished as they said.

My guess is the 2nd one.

I hate Fallout 4. Nuka World sucks. The only good things about the game are the power armor and being able to loot containers at a glance.

I hadn’t played since it came out, but I’m coming to the end of a fresh playthrough and all I’ve got left are Nuka World and whatever passes for the final quest in this shitty game and it’s all coming back to me now.

Unless you’re playing an evil character, Nuka World is just an entire DLC full of enemies with no quests.

Since they decided to make your character for you, I don’t see any solution to the main storyline other than siding with your son and the Institute. Even if you’re playing a good character, your entire motivation is to find and protect your son. Regardless of the fact he’s a dying old man, why wouldn’t you side with him and at least try bending the Institute towards good?

The Railroad are a bunch of clowns wiping synth minds and sending them on their way to inflict themselves on the rest of the Commonwealth with no regard for the consequences.

The Brotherhood are fascist assholes who just send out vertibirds to get blown up by small groups of raiders like retards.

The Minutemen are incompetents who need you to do literally all the work for them.

There’s no water purifier, no battle of Hoover dam, nothing to make me give a fuck about ending the game. If the Institute was meant to be the big bad, they should’ve only had you meet Father in the final quest and make your decision there.

Before this playthrough I couldn’t remember why I had such a negative opinion of the game, but it’s all coming flooding back now.

The Institute or BOS are the only sensible choice you can make

Also i wonder how long it will take for this gem to be taken down by a janny

The Railroad ending canonically ends with an even shittier world where raider gangs just start taking over everything because the only two groups that could impose order or defeat them the Brotherhood and Institute are all dead.

Railroad is by far most reddit of the endings, "sure cannibalistic rapists might be taking over but at least there's no le hecking slavery anymore!"

If I didn't know better and know what Emil's writing is generally like I would think I was supposed to hate the Railroad.

Total Railroad death.

Ironically an institute minutemen ending is the best ending in my opinion. The people of the institute just wanna do science and generally don't give a fuck about anything else. in my opinion it wouldn't be too hard to convince them to play nice if you're in charge (or do like some mod storylines and teleport in minutemen to threaten em). Shut down unethical experiments, Give residents synth guards, give minutemen courser chips to be able pop up in literally a minutes notice. Everybody's happy.

But by far the reason why? The deep range transmitter. People look over it because its just this thing you get when you meet the brotherhood but if you get more info on it you'll really understand why the institute wanted it in the first place. Its not just something that can send a radio signal to dc. The deep range transmitter was made to send messages to spaceships on MARS.

MARS. If the institute gets their hands on that and hooks it up to the classical radio signal? They could appear ANYWHERE. Not just in the commonwealth, hell not just in america but anywhere on earth in the blink of an eye. No faction, not the brotherhood, not even the ncr would be able to stand up to them. How could they? The institute wouldn't even have to leave the commonwealth to bring the fight to them. Just relay in hordes and hordes of synths from hundreds of miles away and most of their base is taken out before they even know who you are much less figure out you're literally half a country away. No vertibirds, no liberty prime, not even the orbital strike from 3 would stand against them because unless you're the brotherhood, you're not gonna know where they came from. And even if you finally do, they're too far away to do anything about it.

Unless im roleplaying a character with a specific faction, i always choose institute simply because just by the end alone they are already the most powerful faction in the series, and would only get more powerful.

you say that, but i got word from another settlement that needs our help. i've marked it on your map
You know what sucks? Preston is actually a somewhat interesting companion when you take away him constantly handing out radiant quests. Dude was demoralized, broken, and without purpose thanks to the Minutemen disintegrating as a result of internal politicking and Quincy and this random stranger comes out of nowhere to save the day and restore his faith in not just humanity but himself. He didn't expect anyone to come, and would have found a way to go out in an utterly pointless blaze of glory.

Not sure if someone brought this up but Fallout Yesterday just came out and its a Fallout 2 TC mod that seeks to replicate Van Buren as close as it can to the original plans.

Havent tried it out yet but I sure love the first two games getting some modder attention.

At least with the minuteman ending you can picture them taking over and putting things back on track on the commonwealth in due time. A slower progress but a far more natural and honest one that will ensure that it will last this time.

The Railroad really offers nothing to the greater wasteland. Hell, with the end of the Institute, they are even more worthless as the lack of any plan beyond saving synths becomes even more obvious and dire.

I hate that there is no vanilla option to say to the other faction leaders

"Look, Im not with The Institute, they are with me. I just gotta play my cards right, maybe do a few morally questionable favors and then they will make me Director. And my first order will be the end of the production of synths and the infiltration missions. No more kidnappings, no more slavery, no more deaths. All you all need to do is to be patient and tolerant if Im forced to do somethings that go against your interests and have my back when some members inevitably try to get back to the way things were. Its all for the sake of this mission. The Commonwealth can be a shining beacon of civilization, we can advance 20 years in just 1, we are so close. So please, trust me."
I take facists over goody two-shoes any day. Still find it weird normalfags still love the brotherhood even with their fascists roots.

I mean, they just started off as tech nerds hiding away in their bunkers (probably playing Fallout's equivalent of DnD in their spare time). They were meant to be true neutrals, they wont bother you if you dont bother them.

Preston is conceptually a good character, Im sure you can do a lot with a strong base like that. But, of course, it goes to show how Emil and crew can screw up a gift wrapped character with weak dialogue and weaker voice acting.

Yup. And then there's Nick Valentine and Hancock, both of whom somehow manage to be strong, well-developed characters despite Emil.

So Xilandro deserves even more shit than you are giving him lol.
I've been shitting on Xilandro since I found him. I first found him when he kept putting faggot ass Ukraine flags on his thumbnails for Nexus and YouTube and kept crying about how everyone was mean to him despite being a massive cunt to everyone who even slightly disagrees with him. "Ukrainians are dying! If you don't like the flag you support Russia!" "Then why are you fleeing Ukraine instead of fighting for it?" "SHUT UP YOU'RE RUSSIAN TROLL, BLOCKED, REEEEEEEEEEEEE NO CAR MOD FOR ANOTHER GORILLIAN YEARS!" Watching his autism ever since, even looked at some of his even older faggotry. Shame he didn't accidentally kill himself working on The Frontier, would've been even more hilarious when it came out that it was a giant mess.
I like the Brotherhood of Steel but everyone else is just kinda lame, I started a new game in FO4 today building a melee character, and the Minutemen are just annoying trying to get you to join them
Never ever go to Concord. It's hilarious how they basically don't exist if you never go there.

Some normalfags don't see the BoS as fascists, that's why. Also, if the BoS took the route of the Enclave with their anti-mutant stance (I.E. all wastelanders are mutants to be purged) they'd be far less popular. There's no minorities in Ghoul and Super Mutant populations, only rotting flesh and green muscle. There's also the fact that all Ghouls will eventually turn feral and thus are or will be a threat, and Super Mutants...well even the most peaceful can still be pretty violent. Jacobstown is a sanctuary for mutants only after all. The BoS' motivations are more justifiable in their eyes. I'm probably over-analyzing it, it's probably just "they have cool power armor and are joinable, I love the BoS!"

TERF Island was invaded by trannies before the bombs fell. The Great War was a blessing from God for the Bri'ish.

Speaking of Ashfall. Anyone buying this or is it just a cope? Also, I had a feeling Fallout London was fucked, after all most big modding projects like this are bound to fail.
