Fallout series

It is really weird how they try to push their "headcanons" to cover for Bethesda's plotholes. Every once in a while, you run into a user who seems to take that stuff too seriously to the point where they seem to have made nuFallout part of their identity. They probably aren't getting paid for it. I'll never understand.
i mean you cant really say its headcannon after tv show
they said it dirrectly to the camera...
on the show funded by amazon...

Oh, right. I don't mean that specifically. Just in general, every time somebody brings up a plothole, a retcon or plain bad writing, they just rush to make an excuse, which then gets pushed as canon. I'm not a deep lore fan but it's even starting to weird me out.

however i think they made it that way not just because they want brownie points, but also to not blame China
notice how they always refer to China as "reds" and "commies"
if you dont know the lore you might think they are talking about ussr
Yep. Was pretty neat getting the code book off the Chinese sub in FO2 Restored and reading all the entries on what went down.

100% can't be done today because can't offend our Chinese overlords.

Updated my London mod to 1.05 version

Changelog:
*Rank two Cannibal recipe for Clone Meat added
*Coffee now has two recipes(2 silt beans give one cup, Coffee Tin gives 10) and has similar effects to Wasteland Coffee from Fallout New Vegas. Unfortunately, due to how crafting in Fallout 4 works I was unable to make a Coffee Pot a requirement without it disappearing into the aether every time you crafted something, so you will have to carry one around for roleplaying I guess
*I was unable to find a use for Detective Files, so I assume this is just another generic item. It now gives 10 paper like normal folders, however the information within them might still be worthwhile to the right people. Just like with undamaged books, you can sell the item for 100 tickets in stores, it's rare enough that it shouldn't destroy the economy.

I think I am done with small stuff at this point. I plan on making sure every animal meat recipe has at least one Tier 2 variant to make survivalist playstyle ala New Vegas feasible as a replacement for stimpacks and medicine/chems, but other than that I think I will only bother updating if I find a serious nitpick.

Todd and Amazon's Fallout is so radically different at this point that it might as well be another franchise altogether. The nuclear crater sized plothole that is destroying the NCR while they're conquering the Mojave and this somehow not being mentioned by anybody alone is enough to declare the Amazon show non-canon or expelled to it's own pocket universe like Fallout POS for the PS2/Xbox. I don't care what Todd says and neither should anybody else, the fanbase gets to determine what's canon and what's not and the redditors/bethesda cattle can only cry and screech about it to no effect. Not like there is anything new worthwhile to play from official sources anyways, only content of value comes from the fans, so whatever Amazon headcannon will be in Fallout 5 does not matter to me or most hardcore fans within the fandom.
In face, how people react to that piece of shit is starting to become a litmus test if their opinion matter or not or if they're even a real fan or not. That's the only value I see in that product.

Edit: In a fit of gamer dementia, I tried looking up a piece of soundtrack I have downloaded, and apparently FOLON team deleted it
Here is another one that isn't available anymore
There is several tracks like this that were released before the launch of the game and they're not just cut content but memoryholed content as well? It gets more interesting, their soundcloud page is gone as well
Reddit post leading to it:
Proof I am not crazy(look at the videos and try looking them up)
I wonder if anyone has these old tracks, I am curious how the style of the soundtrack changed between then and now.
I will attach files I have that can't be found anymore. According to this video by one of the composers, "London Empire" was originally a combat theme for London streets
Obviously, it didn't make it in.
I cannot find "Excalibur" or "Gangs of London" anywhere, so I assume these have been successfully memoryholed.

I really don't understand why Bethesda wants to make the tv show canon. They can barley keep their own canon correct. Remember the whole Jet was a Pre War drug thing?

I completely understand people who want to disregard TV show as non-canon; hell, I wish it was.
But you know just as well as I do that Bethesda will never do justice to the original games. We will never see the decline of the NCR that was foreshodowed all over New Vegas, the splintering to new fuctions; we will never see what happened to the Hub or Vault City or what happened to the Legion, nor do I think Todd, Emil, and the crew have the skill to pull something like that off.
They will continue to produce slop that will be happily consumed by retards.
I just believe that its kind of delusional.
The TV show did something that The Last Jedi did to Star Wars; it made me realize that Fallout is no longer made for me in mind, and New Vegas was nothing but something very, very inprobable, like a system glitched out or something.
But now that they went west and shit all over existing plotlines that had decades of writing behind them? Theres no hope we will get a spec of good writing from Fallout.

Money

It got even more people into Fallout, so they want to capitalize on that.

They don't care about the handful of people who play Fallout 1, 2 and New Vegas. They care about the normies that will shovel money at them.
I don't think people realise that fallout is never been as culturally relevant in Star wars or anything else like that you can't just turn something into Star Wars contrary to popular belief.
Star Wars literally dominated every single children's market when it came to toys action figures for the better part of 40 years and then one woman by the name of Kathleen Kennedy destroyed a in my opinion $50 billion franchise I think Lucas was underpaid for it.
Bethesda's last game lost them 500 million fallout 76 it's beating out in its category by every single similar survival base building game

I'm curious, is anybody actually playing London right now or is it just me? I'm just getting into the meat of the main quest, with most of the map unlocked and my player character getting ready for the mid-late game, so it figures I'm modding the game as I go along. If I'm the only one playing the mod, I can stop posting updates to my module, I figured people would care since FOLON Is still new.

Anyways, I updated my mod to version 1.06 and I foresee this being the last major change unless I missed something:

Changelog:
*Recipe overhaul with every common meat type having a Tier 2 Animal Friend recipe. This encourages players to roleplay as hunters and subsiding off cooked recipes alone instead of relying on stimpacks/medicine/chems. Hopefully that playstyle is now feasible. Also added a few new Cannibal recipes, as before bug meat recipes are untouched.
*Adjusted Wasteland Coffee recipe from a tin so that it uses up a bit more components to make more sense with how much cups you craft per batch.
*Bloodpacks changed to Medical Supplies, so changed Womble Omelette recipe to not include them
*Fixed a value so that Famished Steak could actually be crafted
*Disinfectant Alcohol is an item that looks like an unopened bottle of various alcohol but it's not an aid item. Main game just labels these items as duplicates of "X Alcohol Type Bottle" while looking like it's a proper Aid item you can drink. Due to the game thinking it's an empty bottle, it was still in the "Fillable Bottles" class for those playing with Survival Mode or who added the perk to fill empty bottles like I did. Removed Disinfectant Alcohol from this class so that you won't waste a valuable oil/antiseptic resource when collecting Dirty Water.
*Pizzas overhaul: All flavored pizzas add a Hardcore only effect like resisting infection/parasites. Added a brand new more practical effect for each Pizza for core players as well so that there is a distinct difference between each one. Remember, you don't need Animal Friend to craft Pizzas or Soups.

I made a post about removed/beta music from FOLON yesterday. I am missing only two tracks, at least those that I know of. If I can find them and have a complete collection, I will try to make a second mod that actually incorporates them in the main game alongside other tracks. After that, anything bigger will require a GECK update or a brand new way to mod the game, as far as I know the only way to make mods for this game as of now is thru FO4Edit and with a lobotmized copy of Fallout 4.esm that crashes in various cells(and is a pain in the ass to work with), making bigger and more ambitious mods impossible right now.

Don't forget they tried to cash in on the Battle Royale fad as well. Seeing a competitive online shooter in the fucking Gamebryo engine was as hilarious as it was disastrous, you can't even play it anymore since it was removed.

More mod sperging but tbh I like this mod design more than any of the canon Pip-Boy designs. All of the canon designs feel like they'd be heavy on your wrist. I can't be the only one right?
This is more or less just a phone on an armband attached to your wrist, it's much more compact and looks like it'd be less cumbersome to always have on you.

This is gonna sound gay but in all honesty I don't really think I care enough to have a big debate like this over factions in a video game.
That's pretty reasonable really, especially since this is a pretty damn old game and everything has already been debated over, and also with how fucked Fo is it doesn't really matter anymore.
What is your opinion on fallout 76 I have never played it
I mean, if you liked Fo4 and wanted a multiplayer version of it...that's the only "nice" thing I can say about it.
It takes everything that Fallout isn't and simply slaps a recognizable license on it.
"B-but POWER ARMOR, SUPER MUTANTS, DEATHCLAWS, *insert thing from fallout universe here*." Common arguments from nu-Fo fans.
There's a mod that lets you visit a pre-nuke Dry Wells that's pretty solid. Appropriately portrays the Legion as brutal, but better than the alternatives. Even lets you side between two different potential legionaries as they fight it out for command. There's also been some comments about the Legion by Sawyer he posted up on Something Awful that add a lot more nuance to them. You can also talk with Raul and even convince Arcade of all people that the Legion might actually have a reason for its existence. Granted, Arcade is quite right that there's no room for them West of the Colorado, but he's able to accept they're what the East needed.
Time to look around then, would also appreciate some links if you have any though I doubt it'll be hard to find.

You know it's bad when even casual fans are getting repulsed.
"Quest mod" reviews popping up in my recommended.
Huh, you too? Must've had the right tags. Also:
>Frontier dev
>Subtly implies Frontier is unfairly hated and some of criticism was overblown
Opinion discarded. Well, depends on this video really.

So I got to Honest Hearts in my playthrough and honestly, Joshua really does carry the entire DLC. I feel like this DLC would've been super forgettable if it wasn't for him. He's undeniably the best part.
Absolutely, only thing I remember from that DLC having not playing it in quite some time is Joshua and of course Randall Clark.

I said I wouldn't be taking up thread space with my London mod updates, but as it turns out there were a few oversights I had to fix so I am listing a hotfix. If you downloaded the previous versions, download this instead

With that said, I consider this done for now. There aren't any other glaring errors or obvious new changes I want to make, at least not until there is a better way to mod this game so we can get more ambitious mods underway.

Speaking of my last post, I actually got in contact with one of the composers of London. Turns out he has the master for one of the tracks, Excalibur(Camelot battle theme) so I am linking it here. As of now, this is considered lost media, so feel free to reupload it elsewhere if this is your thing, same with other tracks I attached in my previous post. I am still looking for Gangs of London track but unfortunately that was composed by someone else, possibly one of the first tracks made for the mod by a composer that wasn't around when my contact started work on the project, so I have my own work cut out for me.

Excalibur(Cut Camelot Battle Theme):

What you're seeing is pretty much the canon design for the Pip Boy 2000 from F1/F2, albeit with the Pipboy 3000 OS. This one is personally also my favorite, so I am glad both 76 and London included it. Fallout Tactics also has an upgraded custom model with more functions, we can assume other chapters of the BOS around the country have similar pimped out models for personal uses(We know Elijah has one, for example).

Pip Boy 3000 is bulkier because it's build for the wear and tear, I believe the lore states that you could drop a bomb on one and it would be fine, hence why yours never breaks in Fallout 3/New Vegas. Early Fallout 3 was really weird about it's lore, at one point Bethesda had a concept that you could never remove your Pip Boy 3000 because it was genetically encoded for each user and could not be taken off by anyone other than them, this even made it as far as the first DLC with the Gary clone and his missing arm. At some point, Bethesda realized how retarded that was and by the time Fallout New Vegas came around this was completely forgotten, then straight up retconned in Fallout 4.

Here is a fun fact: For the cut Van Buren project, the devs planned to have Lil' Pip 3000, a halfway point between the 2000 and 3000 model
As you can see, it's something akin to a tablet with a screen lid you can open or close, like with a laptop. Functionally, it seems to have similar UI and OS to 2000, albeit more advanced. This model supposedly never sold well because 2000 was more rugged, and if users wanted more functionality and even more protection there was the heavy duty 3000 model. Interesting tidbit here is that this Pip Boy offered upgrade modules, which might have meant that you could actually upgrade your pipboy in Van Buren at one point. The closest we ever get to this in the franchise is the Pimp Boy 3 Billion in New Vegas, which doesn't actually have any upgraded functionality. We've had upgrade modules for the ACE computer in Fallout 2 that upgraded your SPECIAL stats, much like the implants in New Vegas or Bobbleheads in Bethesda's Fallout did, I'm guessing the upgrade modules would work in a similar way in that you would have to find them in certain locations and maybe attach them via a Science Workstation(Van Buren predates Fallout 4 with settlement design).
